Jun. 24, 2007 Then looking across the way, past steel, past trees, past railings of sorts, there was a woman standing there and she had black hair, and was thin, watching what was going on, sharing a joke with her honey, and they are average, but it made me think for some reason of another decade. It was as if they could be standing there at that spot but in another time, and it was as if I had slipped into that time, and it was no longer the desperate sun shining too brightly on everything, but it was the more even-keeled moon, the moon in the day, in an autumn day, a deep day, and I was wearing a reversible jacket with a type of nylon on the outside, and on the inside,- red and caramel patches, and the winds blew there, by the couple sharing the joke, and around my double crown, my beloved double crown. I am staring there, past the railings, past steel, past trees, and I wonder why the woman seems like she is from that time, from that past time. How did things come to be? What do they say, when they share a joke like that? Maybe she kisses him on the cheek, maybe not. I can’t remember. There is affection in days and I suppose there is affection in nights. I wonder what was happening in that spot, where they were standing, in 1982? In 1983? In 1984? They are not a handsome couple. They are neither here nor there. I know that I stood there, around there, by the antique cars, long ago, because there is a photograph. Still, a million years later, I am there, and the wind blows around my double crown.
