Avenger's bigotry towards atheists is clear, and his statements about aliens demonstrate only ignorance. For, what “alien declarations” have I made? I doubt Avenger took the time to actually understand the detailed discussion that went on, and continues to go on. What's your opinion on the Fermi Paradox, Avenger? Do you have one? What do you think is meant by “aliens”? Did you think it was wrong for the Viking probes to sample the Martian soil for microbial life in the 1970s? Why or why not? In fact, do you have anything intelligent to add one way or another to the discussion?

No, I don't think you do. You are a sham, a fraud, a hoax. You go above and beyond merely having a false identity. It's no secret that some writers do not use their real names, but only a crook such as yourself would invent an alias for the sole purpose of attacking other individuals. Tom Pain can be as brash as you at times, Avenger, yet he also brings value to the site by submitting well-written op-ed pieces with supporting evidence that discuss the important issues of the day. What do your contributions amount too, Avenger? Anyone is capable of calling someone else fat.

Here is a bit for bit rebuttal to this incarnation of a force representing all things bad about Useless-knowledge. Please note the venom, bigotry and hypocrisy:

The “New and Improved” Rebuttal section of Useless Knowledge debuted this week and I honestly cannot see how anything has been upgraded.

First of all, bestowing administrative powers to Frederick Smith, seemed like a poor choice. Smith, (of course it is doubtful that is his “real” name, something that has become he and Pain-Lewis' latest obsession: demanding others to declare their real names to them) well known for his atheistic dribbles and alien declarations, is a polarizing figure at U-K. He fits quaintly and most comfortably in the Ron Lewis/Tom Pain camp, speaking of which, why is this Pain-Lewis person allowed to openly post under two different names? Known to most of us as Sybil, he even sneakily tried to double dip in the recent writing contest sponsored by U-K, in a most botched attempt to five-finger the prize. Busted!

I write about atheism and humanism, as others write about astrology, Christianity and a variety of beliefs, views and hobbies. I cannot help but note the bigotry in Avenger's (who writes about nothing meaningful) statements. One member of his cabal sent me this note:

Another member of that cabal called Tom Pain an “N”. If there is any camp of misfits and hate mongers at the site, is it the racists, or merely those passionate about what they believe? The one-alias rule sticks, and it will be applied uniformly. Avenger already knows this, but I've had administrative right for many months. Maybe I wasn't interested in making sweeping changes, or maybe we (the "administration") thought that the EIGHT or so existing moderators (some of them in the Avenger-cabal) could handle policing the site...

Finally, I've clearly stated that I do not need to know someone's real name. I only need to know which forum name each main-page writer has.

Now, Sybil has taken to the Flame Room, a room that excludes most of the actively new writers on this site. This room is supposed to be, according to Smith, “a place for the authors to commune” and “racist language is not allowed”. Huh? One would not receive that impression by the list of “new topics” posted here. See for yourself: “I Hate America”, “Jews Must Die!”, “Liberals Are Gay Cowards”, and so on. How is such a thing any better from what was originally implemented here? Clearly, this is far worse and downright hateful and ignorant.

Indeed racist language is not allowed, which is why this cabal had better change or realize that their days are numbered.

The new forum has barely gotten off the ground. I haven't even submitted an official main-page notice that the changes are finished – indeed, they are not finalized. The new rules turn many old posts into disallowed ramblings – we are working on a way to retroactively “fix” these issues without turning many still active threads into swiss cheese and unintelligible garbage. The Flame room used to be the UK Community room, after all. As for who is allowed or not allowed, not a single user has had his/her permissions changed yet. Any user who had access before the changes, still has access to the entire site.

Here is the difference between the old way and the new: Fred now has executive power and Sybil has free reign now, with no one to call him out. What about the moderators here to stop such bias and hate? Good question. The two chosen appear to be too scared and too incapable to stand up to these two losers. One moderator, by all accounts, is a young college kid! He could not handle the job of moderator last time and now he is suddenly back to aid poor little Tom from the Big Bad Haters at U-K? Give me a break!

The reason the “young college kid” couldn't handle the last round of chaos is precisely because Avenger and Co. ran wild with their various multiple aliases!

The second moderator’s only claim to fame, seems to be a book she paid to be published in, using Publish America! Dang! So that was why all those references to that company were mysteriously deleted! Her website, offers no insight into her book or her qualifications. When one clicks on the press section, the ONLY ‘press’ her book has managed to receive, is a one sentence quote from, gasp: Ken Hughes! How is that for credibility! Oh, but she does offer anyone the option of a glossy, high definition picture of herself. No thanks.

This attack on our two moderators is the kind of thing that allegedly earned Tom Pain so many enemies. The hypocrisy is so strong that it's wilting my nose-hair. What difference does it make if someone has a claim to fame or not? What's your claim to fame, Avenger? Will your epithet reveal that you've spent many hours as a fraud with a vendetta in a virtual nook on the Internet? If this kind of behavior is your calling, go find an enemy in massive multilayer online game – it's more fun.

Why has the horrible criminal references to one of my favorite U-K authors made by one of the all time worst writers of U-K not been deleted? Talk about hateful and biased.

As horrible to some as calling a fellow contributor the infamous African American racial slur. As stated above, these posts will be eliminated in one way or another.

Incidentally, someone needs to do a little proofreading with all of Fred’s new dribbles. Here is one from his new greatest hits, Rules and Goals: “a intelligent mod can differentiate between harmless banter and outright insult.” Um, Fred, you used the wrong article here—it should be “an”. “A” is used with consonants and “an” is used with vowels. Guess you were out sick that day when it was taught in school, ha? Or were you chasing aliens?

Thanks for pointing that out. In the Upgrade section of a forum, a section you still have access too, Avenger, I asked folks to proof-read the new words I added to the site. How kind of you, how helpful to the greater UK Community that you chose this venue to point out this typo, rather than that forum, by email or via a forum pm (personal message). Your dedication the site and its goals continues to impress me. With people like you around, Useless-knowledge is sure to prosper!

A mini grammar sidebar is in order for one of my favorite U-K writers as well: There is no need to add an additional “s” to a person’s name where an s already exists at the end of that name.

Example:

Wrong: Gates’s words
Correct: Gates’ words

For Sybil: You continuously misuse the hyphen as a dash. Another Useless Knowledge writer kindly addressed this matter with you, and you refused to admit that you were wrong. Here it is for you to look up, in a reference book YOU referred Smith to during you strange task of critiquing other people’s entries. Refer to The Chicago Manual of Style, 14^th edition, page 185, Rule 5.106. In short:

Wrong: Sybil-a disturbed loser, will not go away.
Correct: Sybil—a disturbed loser, will not go away.

So much for the “New and Improved” rebuttal section. It clearly looks like it is just going to be “The Fred and Sybil Show”, void of intelligence, diversity, and camaraderie. Way to go!

It seems clear to me that the process of weeding out those who make no contributions to the site and who attack others for their views alone, would be the best way to make the site a place that fosters camaraderie.

Avenger, you've “lived by the sword, and soon you shall die by the sword.” You recognize that quote, no? Sure you do – one of your alter egos pleaded with me at the forum to leave it a free-for-all so that your hypocritical nonsense could continue. Only 1/7^th of your articles have been about something other than attacking people, most often one individual, unless my math was wrong due to daydreaming about aliens on fraction-day. If you continue on this course, you will continue to add zero value to the site and will, at least, be blocked from the greater forum. The main Useless-knowledge page is many things and is rather open, but it is not about one author's “revenge”.

Excuse the cliche, Avenger, but, get a life.
