July 23, 2007 Some places stay on forever, or what seems like forever. In that place, there were never patrons around, and it wouldn’t be so bleak if there were some actual bleakness or disarray. Instead, there was just dead air, and fake plants, and flooring and tables from the early 1980’s. There was an old lady that looked like a man, and she stood behind the counter looking out without an expression. Another worker watched a television, and yet another sniffled and shuffled around oafishly, like an off-centered grumbling dog. Not even bad spirits bothered with the place, and out back there was a brown Mercedes, out of date, and probably out of oil. Ugly brown cars like that, decadent, spoiling views of wildflowers and somehow it even spoils the daytime moon. Some places stay on forever, and the people are like ghosts, and they are set up as caricatures of themselves, if ever they were anything. Somehow they are supposed to say hello, but they don’t mean hello, or anything at all. It’s only something that is done, amidst the too old flooring and the spiritless plastic plants and trays. ------------ Email Brian Michael Barbeito: Brian1750@Hotmail.com Comment on this article here! ------------ All articles are EXCLUSIVE to Useless-Knowledge.com and are not allowed to be posted on other websites.
