2. An agreement or a treaty to end hostilities.

The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition, Copyright 2001 by Houghton Mifflin Company.

As a survivor of a stage four illness, (among other things) now in remission, knock-on wood, I have come to understand and embrace inner peace.  It is a liberating state of well being that I wish for all of you to experience and maintain.

Below is an affirmation I wrote that I would like to share with the readers of U-K. I use it to help remind me that peace always begins within.  Inner peace is a choice and I have learned to choose it in order to survive, thrive, and evolve.

"Planting Peace"

An Affirmation for Well-Being

Every day

when we rise

we can make

the decision

to plant

the seeds of peace...

through our thoughts

speech and actions

we have the power

to maintain

our own well-being

and while the spirit crushers

and war mongers

attempt to infect us

with their malignancy

our serenity

will shield us

from their strife...

for the power of peace

is right inside

our heads and hearts

gently guiding us

towards harmony

and freedom.
