Jan. 25, 2007 Yes, it was a tragedy. A car driven by Brandy Rayana Norwood, or as she prefers to be known, simply Brandy, slammed into the back of another car in California on December 30th, propelling it into a third automobile and then sideways into the opposite lane where it was broad-sided by a fourth car. The driver, Awatef Aboudihaj, died. There were no injuries reported to Ms. Norwood. I like this part: “Brandy's publicist issued the statement: "She wishes to publicly express her condolences to the family of the deceased." The statement also asked the media to "respect the privacy of everyone involved at this time.”
Is this “respect my privacy” blather getting a bit old? Doesn’t it seem that it is usually someone screwing up big time that asks for his or her privacy? And isn’t it usually some insecure, low life, no-talent celebrity, who has spent their entire life begging for the media’s attention so that their pitiful psyche can somehow justify an iota of self-esteem, that wants to hide behind the “privacy” screen lest their fragile ego crumbles to the mediocrity it truly deserves?
In this case, it seems ironic that the publicity shot accompanying the story shows Brandy exposing a whole lotta skin – if she doesn’t even have respect for her own privates, why does she expect us to respect her privacy?
Obviously, Brandy had been successful in avoiding exposure for her mistake for some time – the accident was almost a month ago and the story only appears today. How long does she expect us to “respect her privacy”? Somehow, I expect her wish is that this story never appears anywhere. Was the Sheriff disrespecting her privacy with his statement? –
“Barring any mechanical difficulties on Brandy's part there's the very high probability that she is the party most at fault..."
I read no mention of Ms. Norwood undergoing a Breathalyzer, how respectful. Does California law require blood tests when a death is caused in a traffic accident? Heck, the media tried its best to create a scandal when VP Cheney was involved in a hunting accident and was not subjected to testing – even though many witnesses confirmed that the victim was at fault and that the VP was not intoxicated. Where are the bloodsucking scum now, when one of their celebrity heroes is driving down the road killing people? Do you suspect that were Mr. Aboudihaj alive, he would complain that Brandy did not “respect his privacy?”
I can’t
wait to hear her complain when the plaintiff’s attorney disrespects her bank
accounts to provide the compensation this man’s family would rather not
have. I’m sure questions like, “How
much money do you have?” will seem disrespectful to her. I expect she will
fight their claims and try to minimize any money paid - but she won't want us to
know that either.
