What's in Store for the Next Two Years?

By Craig Chamberlain
Jan. 5, 2007

I don't like to make predictions-after all I had predicted to my family that Notre Dame would win the Sugar Bowl, and look at how that turned out- because predictions are usually wrong. But sometimes it is safe to make an educated guess(now, if only I could find someone educated to make one) when the signs are so overwhelmingly obvious as to what's going to happen. I think it's safe to say that the GOP isn't going to have a whole lot of say in what goes on in Congress. All that talk by Pelosi about respecting the minority parties rights, is just that, talk. She'll spend the next couple of weeks ramming half witted, and dangerous bills through congress(but then she's a Demon-crat, we should expect half witted and dangerous) these bills may or may not get through the Senate, or survive the Presidents veto pen, but she'll be sure to make a lot of noise. Congressmen, like the American people at large, have no concept of economics. They don't think of it as a science with its own concrete rules and laws, they think of it more as an art form. Something that can be controlled by people with political power, that' s what they want the U.S. economy to be. Which is why Washington is going to be happy to ram a mininum wage increase through. Since it's popular with the people the GOP won't so much as raise their voices against economic idiocy. The President won't stop it either, thinking that sending lots of Americans(especially unskilled poor Americans) to the unemployment line will help him get along with the San Francisco psycho and her minions of goose stepping Stalinists. Which brings me to my next point. The Democrats are out for blood, especially if you're a Republican from Texas. (Oddly enough their not this bloodthirsty when it comes to Usama Bin Laden, or the Islamic Fascists who want to destroy this country) we can expect two years of pointless investigations, being breathlessly reported on by the treason media, and the moonbats on the left calling for the impeachment of the entire adminastration. Ethics changes? Surely you jest? The whole point of our political system is for two political parties to battle it out, and for one the push the other out of power so they can have all the swag for themselves, not to get rid of the swag. We can expect no term limits on congressional chairmans. We are merely trading one batch of lobbyists for another. If we want a clean congress we'll have to term limit the whole bunch of them. And we know that's not going to happen. The Republicans are going to have to spend the next several years(let's face it, as horrific as it is, Pelosi and her little totalitarians are going to be in power for a while) voted down, and being able to do nothing other than watch the party of treason and collaboration do as much damage to our security, and our economy as they possibly can. But the GOP isn't blameless. They vowed smaller government, and instead they gorged themselves at the public trough, increasing the size of the government to such a size that FDR would blush. It's time for the spirit of Reagan to take over the party again, and set our house in order so that we can run Pelosi and her fellow scum out of the House of Represenatives.
