Feb. 24, 2007 It's been awhile since I submitted an article to Useless-Knowledge Magazine, but apparently there's been some accusations from certain U-K writers that Thomas Keyes is a world traveller only in his imagination. I recently received a postcard signed by Mr. Keyes, a postcard from Argentina, in fact. Thomas sent me a postcard on which he had written a short "wishes for a happy new year" in several languages including what I take to be Greek, Portuguese, Arabic, and Spanish although I'm not an expert on languages. The postcard has a postmark that says "Correo Argentina" at the top and "Republica Argentina" on the bottom in red ink. The postmark is dated 7 02 07. I received the postcard on February 15th. Two days ago I received another postcard from Mr. Keyes. This card was titled, "Buenos Aires Cuidad de Cupolas" (City of domes). It shows three picturesque domes with many large buildings in the distance. The postmark is very clearly states "Correo Argentino" To me there is proof enough that this card was mailed from Argentina. Today I received yet another postcard from Thomas. This one came from Buenos Aires as well. I hope this article settles the issue as to whether Thomas Keyes is actually living in Argentina. I am convinced that he is. Perhaps a better proof would be for me to scan in both sides of these postcards so that a skeptical reader can see the scanned images. If I did that, however, the same skepticism that applies to alleged photographs of UFOs might apply. The skeptic might suggest that I had created the card images myself or that I had added some material to what I actually received from Mr. Keyes. Well, I guess you just need to trust me. I actually did receive these three postcards from Mr. Keyes and the postmarks show that each card was mailed in Argentina. That's proof enough for me. Moving on to another matter concerning proof, recently I have started taking a class entitled "basic ideas in mathematics." The class is headed by a retired philosophy professor. He receives no payment for teaching this class. For years he has been very interested in this subject, and he knows a great deal about logical arguments and proofs. With the help of a tutor I am applying myself to this subject. ------------ About the author: Sixty-eight years of age, and still relatively vigorous in mind, body, emotions, and spirit, John L.
