Hornet nests
And pears
How does love blossom?

Gateways and green flowers
Violins and windows
Or bricks in the sun
How does death grow?

Fluorescent skies
Questions and pens or
Roosters by barns
Little boats and spiders
In the field
Where is the evening?

Old wrinkled coats
Or dandelions on
The run
Clamoring planets
And good satellites
Oh mourning…

Funny old
People or the racket
Of birds
Corner store
Gum and the
Mountains of
Noon

Electrical grapes
Flames and
Whitecaps,
Drums and whistles,
Or the breeze
From the tide…
