Feb. 11, 2007 Main stream media is ensuring maximum coverage of Russia ’s President Putin this week. Another disgruntled enemy of personal liberty and justice has arisen to register distain against the one nation in the world still attempting to bring such personal freedoms to the socialistically bashed populations of dictatorships like that of Russia and their chief ally Iran. The Associated Press has managed to spread the latest round of “pouts” for a dictator who hasn’t managed much press lately. Vladimir has found the way to the press’s heart is through America bashing. Everyone leftist agrees that when you bash America it is not only news, but it is almost always deserved. The article was: “Putin Accuses U.S. of Sparking New Nuclear Arms Race”, Fox News, Sunday, February 11, 2007, citing an Associated Press release which began: “Russian President Vladimir Putin… blamed U.S. policy for inciting other countries to seek nuclear weapons to defend themselves from an "almost uncontained use of military force"… The policy of the United States is that of personal freedom and liberty. Putin has cited the desire of “other countries to see nuclear weapons” to, it seems, protect their borders against freedom, liberty and security. These “other countries” apparently want to contain their dictatorships and continue to subjugate their populations and kill their dissidents. Putin is further quoted: "Unilateral, illegitimate actions have not solved a single problem, they have become a hotbed of further conflicts…"One state, the United States , has overstepped its national borders in every way." And that is a load of crap. Russia signed on to every resolution from the United Nations and then promptly backed off when asked for assistance in quelling the world’s trouble spots. Russia has not assisted in negotiations with Iran and their help with North Korea can only be counted using a microscope. Putin uses the terms “unilateral and illegitimate” apparently not knowing what either of those terms means. There are over 60 countries involved in counter-terrorism actions world-over. Putin is probably stressed that America hasn’t suffered any greater attacks on its homeland while he has had to deal with dead children in Russian schools and airliners falling out of the Russian sky. You also have to ask Putin by whose laws are American actions “illegitimate”? Putin, whose nation held all of Eastern Europe captive for several decades has shown incredible brass in his accusation of America overstepping “its national borders in every way”, yet he hasn’t gone to the United Nations or any other entity to block America from its actions in keeping the Iranian Mullahs from creating nuclear jihad. More from the article: “In what the Russian leader's spokesman acknowledged was his harshest criticism of the United States, Putin attacked Bush's administration for stoking a new arms race by planning to deploy a missile defense system in eastern Europe and for backing a U.N. plan that would grant virtual independence to Serbia's breakaway province of Kosovo.” Oh MY! We are backing a plan of the United Nations to see the people of Kosovo free and independent of the people who were committing genocide against them a few short years ago. Putin fears that dictatorships like his will not be able to thrive in a world full of free countries. It is time to criticize and condemn American actions! One might agree that an American plan to “deploy a missile defense system in Eastern Europe” is provocative, but when you consider Putin is a Communist who would prefer Eastern Europe defenseless against a possible future Russian incursion one might easily agree that Eastern Europe is better off under the protection of a free society. Some American reactions to Putin’s comments are mentioned in the report: “The Bush administration said it was "surprised and disappointed" by Putin's remarks.”His accusations are wrong," said Gordon Johndroe , Bush's national security spokesman. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz… described Putin's remarks as "the most aggressive speech from a Russian leader since the end of the Cold War." No one should be “surprised” at the remarks of Putin in the protection of interests that serve the interests of Russia . Iran is a declared enemy of America and shares goals very similar to the goals of the Communist State in keeping America from spreading any form of democracy in the Middle East . Democracy, with a hefty dose of capitalism would cost the Iranians dearly; delaying their stated goal of the ultimate annihilation of Israel . Iran is depending on Russia to veto sanctions and support its end game. All Middle Eastern American operations must end, conclusively, to the satisfaction of the Iranians and the Syrians. The article noted: “The United States and an increasingly assertive Russia repeatedly have butted heads during the past year…[over]…Russia's reluctance to impose meaningful sanctions against Iran…[quoting Putin] “But Putin said it was "the almost uncontained hyper use of force in international relations" that was forcing countries opposed to Washington to seek to build up nuclear arsenals. "It is a world of one master, one sovereign ... it has nothing to do with democracy," he said. "This is nourishing the wish of countries to get nuclear weapons." It seems the objective remains to cast the United States as the greatest world threat. With increasingly more countries falling to leftist ideologies the ideals of American constitutionalism are not desired over the governmental controls imposed by socialism, fascism and communism. The world’s dictators seem to know it is better to steal productive farms and turn them over to non-productive slum-lords, decry Jews and Christians as neocons and intolerant bigots, raise taxes and pretend to protect terrified populations from the evils of Western Capitalism. Putin is again quoted: "This is very dangerous, nobody feels secure anymore because nobody can hide behind international law," Putin told the gathering. "The process of NATO expansion has nothing to do with modernization of the alliance or with ensuring security in Europe ," Putin said. "On the contrary, it is a serious factor provoking reduction of mutual trust." On the missile defense system, Putin said: "I don't want to accuse anyone of being aggressive" but suggested it would seriously change the balance of power and could provoke an unspecified "asymmetric" response.” This is Russia ’s chief fear; that America will be able to westernize the Eastern European bloc and that Communism will finally become passé. Putin is concerned with a “balance of power” that was always on the side of Russia . But the NATO response was from…” NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer [who] said he was disappointed by Putin's criticism about NATO expansion. "Who can be worried that democracy and the rule of law is coming closer to somebody's border?" he asked.” Putin wants his nation and others to be able to “hide behind international law” which is proven to side on the side of dictators and thug-like governments. Quoting the article: “Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the president's speech was not "confrontational" and attributed his blunt words to the sense that the number of conflicts fomented by Washington "was constantly growing" and that international law was being undermined by such actions.”It is in the interest of the United States , the European Union and other countries that international law is upheld, not further destroyed," Peskov said. “International law” has done nothing to keep Russia, China, Iran, Syria or any nation for that matter from suppressing individual freedoms of one type or another. It has been largely the intervention of democratic states that succeeded in things like the ouster of the murderer Hussein, or Milosevic, or Hitler, or Taylor . It was the world’s democracies that forced the wall between Eastern and Western Europe to crumble. Putin is suggesting the world would be a better place if democracies stayed inside their own borders and only advance help and money when Communist countries are stricken with droughts, earthquakes and tsunamis. The tyrannical nations of the world need to spend their monies on armies and nuclear proliferation. ------------ About the Author: Michael John McCrae has contributed over 700 articles to Useless-Knowledge.com.
