 By Ken Hughes Apr. 10, 2007 Hucksters extraordinary the Reverends Al Sharpten and Jesse Jackson found their next victim to extort. Don Imus who is know for some rather barn yard humor at times made an inappropriate comment about the Girls Basketball team from Rutgers University. He referred to them as “Tattooed Nappy Headed Ho’s” The comment was totally inappropriate as Mr. Imus has admitted that. He’s issued several apologies that I found totally sincere. Now it’s time to put his comments in the context of what and who Mr. Imus is. A lifetime of Al Sharpten’s good works couldn’t match a year of Don and Deidre Imuses. Al Sharpten and Jesse Jackson extort millions from brand name companies Don Imus contributes millions of his own money to worthy causes. The Imus family’s primary philanthropic endeavor is the Imus Ranch for kids with cancer located in Ribera New Mexico. The Imus family, Don Deirdre and Wyatt [their son] spend summers hosting week long Cowboy events on the ranch for kids many of them with terminal cancer and other blood afflictions. The ranch is the Imus summer home the kids live in the main ranch house with the Imuses as family guests. Their preteen son Wyatt lives and works with these children as he would brothers and sisters, no child goes unloved while with the Imus family. In addition to the ranch the Imuses are heavily involved in the Environmental Center for Oncology Medicine at the Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey. Mrs. Imus is a leader in turning Hospitals around to using non-toxic Green Clean products and away from the old toxic cleaners most used for years. If I have a complaint with the Imus family it’s the way they thumb their noses at western tradition. The Imuses own and operate a 2,400 hundred acre Cattle Ranch in New Mexico and they’re a bunch of damned vegetarians. My father who was born with a pair of boots and a 10 gallon hat on would turn over in his grave if he knew that. At 15 my Uncle Mike and his best friend Santos came from Spain to be American Cowboys, they ended up being sheepherders but one thing they weren’t was vegetarians. If the Reverends Sharpten and Jackson are truly offended by Mr. Imuses language let them go to the source of the language, the African American Rappers who created a culture that refers to women as Ho’s and Bitches. The Reverends Sharpten and Jackson who defend the Rappers right to free speech using the same language Mr. Imus used would deny Mr. Imus his 15 minutes of shame and demand he be removed from his job, a job incidental that’s in direct competition with the Reverend Sharpten, Radio Talk Show Host. The Reverends Sharpten and Jackson have created a cottage industry out on extortion. Anyone or anything that doesn’t bow to the “Poor Black Me” pressure automatically becomes a target and the only cure is money, lots of money ending up in the coffers of the Expressionist Reverends. I’ll be called a racist for having the courage to say what I feel about the Reverends, as President Bush has been accused of saying “If your not with them your against them.” [Paraphrased] If the only way I can be an American freely voicing an opinion is by being a racist then I confess I’m a racist. Mr. Imus, Mr. McCord, Mr. McGuirk, Deidre, Wyatt and all the fine people who make up the Imus family I commend you enough for accepting responsibility for your ill-phrased attempt at humor. You have my eternal support for what it’s worth. You can please some of the people some of the time but none of the people all of the time.
