Sept. 29, 2006 I know, I've told my friends in the past, how I couldn't see myself getting all emotional about the numerous Reality Shows out there in TV Land, but, I admit it, I'm hooked on Dancing With The Stars, the reality dance- a- thon where well known and less memorable celebrities are paired with professionally trained dancers to compete every week for prize monies that they can contribute to the charity of their choice. I reluctantly tuned in to view the first episode, thinking that these famous and not so famous people would deliver a ho hum performance and I'd be justified in refusing to ever watch again. The senior guy, yea, Jerry Springer, had me in stitches as he attempted to keep in step with his much younger partner. Then, here comes Vivica A. Fox, a bit sassy, a might subdued, but, with plenty of moxey, proving again that women over 40 can rock it like it's hot, leaving me beholden to her 'representing' for the rest of us forty and beyond females out here. Who's up next on my radar, but rhythmless, inept, and plain OLE stink performance of one, Harry Hamlin. I felt bad for that caricature of a dance he attempted the first show out. leaving me no choice but to watch the next show, if only to prod Harry to feel the music, let it all hang out, get his groove on and the rest be damned! Well, obviously, somebody out there was in Harry's corner, because, in the next two shows, Mr. cool gent gave, in my unbiased opinion, a performance worthy of a standing ovation! Harry Hemline came alive during his later performances on Dancing With The Stars. He was the star; not that the other performances didn't do well, but, I must say, I'm feeling a bit perturbed with myself because I didn't vote for Harry Hamlin and his remarkable professional dancing coach. I think they were robbed of going the distance in this dance off. I just want to say for the record, Harry, I'm sorry you deserved to go the distance and I'm even sorrier that I didn't vote for you... ------------ About the author: Clara B.
