One Way To Deal With Terrorist That Meets The Geneva Rules

By Molly Mason
Sept. 25, 2006

Since our nation's leaders are solemnly debating the benefits of torture (proving that George Orwell's "1984" was only a couple of decades premature), I'm offering an interrogation technique that won't violate the Geneva Conventions, but would be inhumane enough to please the pro-hurt lobby: Put the terrorist suspect in a room with only a chair and out-of-reach TVs on all four walls, continually broadcasting car dealers' commercials. After a couple of hours of this, the suspect would be happy to give us Osama bin Laden's Zip code, his computer password, his shoe size and the address of the barber who trims his beard.

I know this would make me beg for mercy. If it was not for the remote control, I would probably be insane by now.

I have never understood why the terrorists have to be given such privileges. They are not a Government Army Member, and this is not a declared military War. We and our allies are the only Military involved. The enemy is a a bunch of savage killers who want to kill Americans mainly, but kill hundreds of citizens, Iraqi Police, would be Police and Government Officials.

I am an American and believe in Human rights, regardless of what the enemy has done. I cannot understand however, how they can be termed "Prisoners Of War", when it is not a Military war. I am not sure what the latest is on the agreement of the House/Senate on rules of interrogation by the US, or if any rules have been settled.

I do hope though that Congress reads this article and votes to accept the Car Dealership Rules.
