Sept. 25, 2006 Always has, always will. Thomas Keyes knows this; anyone with even a common knowledge of history knows this. Anyone is free to complain about the fairness of that doctrine, but like millions before them, throughout recorded history, their complaints mean nothing. However, Thomas’ complaints that the U.N. "stole" Palestine and gave it to the Jews, does not fit this doctrine. The Arab countries that he notes did not vote for the partition did, however, vote to join the U.N.. They agreed to abide by its rules and decisions. Surely, each of us has been in a similar position. Have you joined a company and disagreed with their business strategy, yet went along anyway? Have you married someone and went along with a decision of his/hers with which you disagreed? An option in both cases is to quit – resign from the job or divorce the spouse. The Arab countries have not quit the U.N., yet they complain about its decisions. Their complaints mean nothing. Their option is to quit the U.N., renounce its decisions, and attack Israel to reclaim what they believe is rightfully theirs. Except for resigning from the U.N., such that their membership is now fraudulent, they have done this – they’ve attacked Israel over and over. The problem is that the corrupt U.N. does not have the gonads to enforce its own decisions. Instead of supporting its decision to create Israel, it undermines the country and seeks to reverse through corruption what it created through democratic decision. But yes, Might does Make Right. The Arab countries have gotten their butts kicked every time they’ve attacked. Thus, Israel continues to exist. Just as the Jews got their butts kicked by the Romans back when or they would have never lost the legitimate claim to Palestine that Thomas claims they no longer have. Might gave the USSR the right to control Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The world complained to no avail. It gives the U.S. the right to our land that we took away by force from Indians, the English, the French, the Spanish, the Dutch, and the Mexicans. If they want it back, well, come on back and take it from us. Kick our butts and you can have it. But corruption is preventing the doctrine of Might Makes Right from working as it should in the Middle East. Except for corruption, Israel would easily be twice the size it is now based on all the Arab butt it’s kicked. And we see what the results of that corruption leads to – continuous wars and the loss of more lives than are necessary. If the U.N. would just allow Israel to continue kicking Arab butt until the Arabs gave up – this bloodshed would end. It is a fact that Israel exists today, and historically its existence is entirely legitimate. They stole the land from the Arabs, who stole it from someone else, who stole it from the Romans, who stole it from the Jews, who stole it from Egyptians, or whatever. At each step in that chain of possession, Might Made Right. That Arabs now whine, and bribe U.N. officials to assist their effort because they are too weak to do it themselves, is pathetic. If the U.N. passed a resolution dividing the U.S. and we were not able to defend ourselves against its implementation, we have no room to complain. If we’re that weak, someone would have taken over our country eventually any way. Spare us, Thomas, all the whining and crying for the pathetic Arabs. With all the wealth that has been undeservedly handed to them by the luck of geography, they still can’t build strong countries and have to cry baby to the world because little tiny Israel picks on them. I’m reminded of the Charles Atlas advertisements in the back of those comic books when I was a kid. The ones that pictured the wimp at the beach getting sand kicked in his face by the burly boy. Arab countries need to go lift some weights because they’re living on one big sand dune and the Israel bullies are going to keep kicking.
