Thomas Keyes Claims That He Found Adi Da's Wallet

By John L. Waters
Sept. 12, 2006

Get this! In this article Thomas Keyes claims that he once found Adi Da's wallet!

How can a skeptic like Thomas Keyes expect his readership to believe his wallet story? What proof does Mr. Keyes have that he actually found Adi Da's wallet? On the other hand, why is Mr. Keyes relating this wallet story to all his U-K readers if he doesn't expect us to take the story seriously? Perhaps Mr. Keyes is actually trying to fool us. After all, Thomas boldly and foolishly says that John Waters' Guru is Adi Da! Hahhhhhhh! That's a funny one! It's a false claim. Thomas, you are dead wrong.

The universe is John Waters' guru. Adi Da is just a human being whom Thomas Keyes chooses to despise. John has never even met Adi Da.

No matter how many faults Mr. Keyes finds in Adi Da, By damaging the reputation of Adi Da, Mr. Keyes can't damage the reputation of John Waters or any other man. Adi Da is his own man, just as Thomas Keyes is his own man. John Waters is his own man.

Furthermore, it's a fool's way to see one rotten apple or a few rotten apples and then attack all apples as though all apples are rotten. It would be equally irrational for Mr. Keyes to attack all burros merely because burros don't have wings like eagles do. And if you were in charge of a starving multitude and you found a barrel full of apples, and only five of the apples were rotten, would you throw out all the good apples? Why no. If you were sane you'd remove the rotten apples and feed all the good apples to the hungry multitude.

But look. All those slick magazine skeptics who attack a few spiritual teachers as evil, and then go on to claim that all the spiritual teachers are evil, are just like a foolish starving man who refuses all food because he notices that a little bit of food is spoiled. Soon the fool's folly is exposed. Starvation is his reward for being foolish.

Those who carefully read Mr. Keyes' articles know he isn't a total fool, but in this case Thomas leapt to the wrong conclusion about John Waters being Adi Da's disciple. Perhaps Mr. Keyes thought that John Waters is a disciple of Adi Da because both Adi Da and John Waters live in or near Trinidad, California. John also occasionally writes about Adi Da. John's teacher, however, is the universe, and that universe includes both Adi Da and Mr. Keyes himself.

If you really knew John Waters you wouldn't confuse John with a disciple of Adi Da or some other God-man.

For more information on God-men, consult Dr. Bucke's book, entitled sensibly enough Cosmic Consciousness.

The Internet gives additional examples.

The fool hath said in his illogical heart, "Since a few apples are rotten, therefore all apples are rotten."

Apply logic and your other human faculties diligently and perhaps you will integrate.

If Adi Da has so far failed to integrate, that doesn't mean integration is impossible for him or for anyone else.
