By Michelle Malsbury
Sept. 10, 2006

Sometimes you fall into something so wonderful that you cannot help but tell the world about it. Avenue Sea is one such find. Avenue Sea is a restaurant located in the historic, Gibson Inn, in Apalachicola, Florida .

The Gibson Inn is the social epicenter for this small waterfront community. It (the Gibson Inn) was built in 1907, sits at the confluence of highway 98 and Avenue C, and boasts thirty (30) luxurious, Victorian suites. Brothers, Mike and Neil Koun, have owned the Gibson Inn since 1983 and have helped to create a welcoming and hospitable ambiance for visitors and locals alike to enjoy. For more information about accommodations please contact manager, Pamela Erario, at 850-653-2191 or e-mail at www.gibsoninn.com.

Avenue Sea, under the expert direction of husband and wife team-David and Ryanne Carrier, has defined their existence by setting forth to prepare and serve some of the most distinguishing and delicious cuisine you could ever hope to eat. Chef, David Carrier, put together a menu that combines locally caught seafood and oysters, with first class cuts of pork, chicken, or steak, teamed up with exquisite organic vegetables and fruits, infused with a delicate balance of herbs and spices to temp every palate. You can select a first, second, or third course, with or without sides. Portions range from petite to perfect. Prices range from $6 to $15.

Desert at Avenue Sea is an absolute must. Pastry Chef, Ryanne Carrier, serves up some of the most unique and delectable deserts one can possibly imagine. Signature deserts for her include and are not limited to; a tupelo honey baklava that will knock your socks off, her special fruit infused tarts topped with homemade ice cream or whipping cream, or single serving chocolate cake baked with crèmes and caramel. All items are freshly made to order and served with tender love and care.

Pastry Chef, Ryanne Carrier, also has a real knack for discovering and determining which wines enhance which dishes and/or deserts. She has sought out, and now serves, some of the most eloquent wines from around the world. She will be happy to recommend a few from the wine menu that will greatly add to your dinning enjoyment at Avenue Sea .
