Oct. 31, 2006 Molly: Initially I thought I'd e-mail you my response, or maybe respond in the rebuttal forum. Then again, you shared your opinion with someone else, rather than with your intended target (me), so I decided to post my rebuttal for the world to see--literally, As for your comments, I found them surprising, particularly for someone whose ideas have been shot down, ridiculed and repeatedly dissected to your detriment. You have often had to backtrack after exposing your lack of comprehension, and your latest response is no exception, In fact, if you felt that I was racist, rather than tell that to Brooks, why not e-mail me? I am always happy to respond to such allegations and engage in discussion, rather it be friendly or antagonistic. Other UK authors can attest to that. Now, let us examine your missive, point by point, shall we? You wrote, "Brooks, I don't think you were racist. It is a fact that the big percentage of Black Phone manners are as you stated. This has been my experience also." I get the distinct impression that you don't talk to enough blacks to draw such a conclusion. The dear doctor claims to deal with large number of blacks, so that might lend more credence to his argument, depending on your perspective. Second, one must wonder why this was important to him to write about, and why he couldn’t discuss his concerns with the offending parties. Perhaps it was written to inflame, as his follow-up in the rebuttal section suggested. In short, it is unwise to express an opinion in words other than your own, while being incapable of defending it. Your next assertion: “Mr. Stelly takes offense as a racial issue which it is not. Had you said this about whites, probably you would not have gotten any responses. That is what I call racist Mr. Stelly.” Not only is this ungrammatical, it is “pretzel logic” and implies an inability to think clearly. First of all, the fact that blacks were singled out makes painted the article with racial overtones. Had he wrote it about whites, I probably wouldn’t have read it all the way through. I would have simply thought he was blowing off steam. Second, are you implying that I am racist because I only defend black people but not whites? In conclusion, your own words say it best: “I have stated in this rebuttal room that I am a stupid Texan Lady…I am sure all the others understood your article. Sorry for the error on my part. /s/ Molly the stupid Bitch.” (UK Rebuttal Forum, “Mudslinging At It’s Very Best,” 10/21/06). While you may have wanted readers to think those words were tongue in cheek, I beg to differ, I think they were a confession, which lends credence to the idea that you are unqualified to rebut anything. Perhaps you should set down the sarsaparillas, then your keyboard, and pick up a few books other than the ones that have the words “close cover before striking” written on the cover. I look forward to hearing from you. Best regards, Mr. Stelly ------------ About the author: Timothy N.
