Oct. 30, 2006 One of the things that drew me to U.K. some two years ago, was the fact that attack articles—while not encouraged—were not discouraged. I’ve had my share of battles with various writers at this site—most notably Ken Hughes, Ron Lewis, a few with Brooks and a several others. In fact, recently I objected in the rebuttal forum to an article written by Brooks, regarding the alleged lack of telephone etiquette of blacks. While Brooks and I seldom agree, I do applaud him for defending his point of view. He is not afraid to engage in debate, and usually speaks his piece honestly, He has never run from a verbal duel. While Mick and I, along with several others, disagreed on the issue (I saw his accusation as racist), some honest dialogue ensued. What I dislike is when a cowardly racist pens venomous tripe that lacks substance and indicates a profound degree of ignorance. I am not saying that Brooks or any of the other letter writers in the rebuttal forum fit that description. I’m referring to an e-mail I received Saturday evening, which read: “Well I saw your response in the rebuttal section. It was proof you are are a nigger who fits his description. /s/ Bart warren.” I traced the e-mail back to a UK contributor named Carl Tirpitz. (“Politicians And Judges Rule America,” Oct. 26, 2005). I then penned the following e-mail in response: Sir: Next time you want to cal someone a "nigger," use your real name, okay? It is gutless to sign a fake name to something you believe. By the way, you might want to check the rebuttal section tomorrow. As I have mentioned several times before, I like UK because of the contentious debate that goes on. I don’t object to anyone’s name-calling, as long as they stand behind what they say. If it gets too whack, I know that’s the end of the subject. I think it takes a weak and frightened individual, a truly gutless person, to write something like that, then run from it. There have been other writers who used “the ‘n’ word” in articles, and I saw it for what it was--a vulgar, and cheap response to a serious issue. At least those writers had the temerity, if nothing else, to sign their real names. The act by “Mr. Warren” shows his chickenhearted nature. He's like the chihuahua who runs with the big dogs, does all the barking, and is the first to run when a stick is hurled. No matter how you cut it, it indicates cowardice--the mark of a racist. Like the Klansman who hides behind his mask, “Mr. Warren” is also afraid of being “found out.” My advice is, be real about your racism, fella. That way, I can verbally tear YOU a new ass, and not some figment of your twisted imagination. Like Ken Hughes, you too, will learn what its like to run face-first into the blades of the mower.
