Stuff From My Cluttered Inbox

By Michael John McCrae

John C. Bersia made a good point in his column of August 17, 2006 entitled: “A reminder of the full threat Terrorists pose”; after likening terrorists to fleas he wrote: “The emphasis of the “war against the flea” also must shift to where terrorists originate and ideologically fuel their torrent of violence…The U.S. and its allies should dedicate the necessary resources, both military and financial, to enable those fledgling democracies to endure. I am implying nothing less than the kind of commitment made to Germany and Japan after World War II.”

I believe the “commitment” is there among those who know the meaning of freedom. That is why the President is so adamant about ensuring Iraq has a stable government before withdrawing any soldiers. Iraq is where terrorists are. Osama and his lieutenants have already explained to the world how Iraq has been the central battle between Islamic fundamentalism and Western Culture.

Meanwhile, Paul C. Campos wrote in his Lieberman hit piece: “Real threat is our fear of Islamofasicist enemy”; that Joseph Lieberman’s statement: “I’m worried that too many people, both in politics and out, don’t appreciate the seriousness of the threat to American security and the evil of the enemy that faces us.”; should be “rather denounced as transparently hysterical nonsense.”

Forgetting that Mr. Campos is a card-carrying liberal puke for a moment; how can anyone call Lieberman’s statement “nonsense” in the light of beheadings, car-bombings of innocents and airliners hijacked and flown into skyscrapers? That seems perfectly “evil” and enough of a “threat to American security” to me!

My only real problem with Lieberman is not his desire to see America secure, but the fact he’s a liberal with only one conservative value to his credit. He is still a political opponent who votes with the democratic platform when it comes to killing innocent unborn children through the barbarism of abortion.

Arianna Huffington begins her Bush-bashing hit column: “Ehud Olmert: Wise man of Bush clone?” by writing: “Israel needs to take a deep breath, take a close look at the battlefield (focusing not just on body count but on the hearts and minds being lost), and learn from the disastrous example of Iraq what blindly and stubbornly staying a self-defeating course will bring.”

After I finished gagging on that piece of abject stupidity; realizing Huffington was truly insane and a$$-backwards in her presentation of Middle Eastern events, I calmed down enough to reflect on the truly warped expectations of the liberal mindset.

There is no winning of any Palestinian “heart or mind” through the diplomacy that has been displayed since the Carter administration. Arab will always hate Israel , attack Israel and attempt the total destruction of Israel .

It is the Arab that hasn’t learned to put away the weapons of war and sue for peace. Israel has agreed to every land-for-peace deal brokered over the past few decades and not one of these “peace” deals brought anything more than a brief respite from Arab terrorism and outright war.

It is the diplomacy itself that has become the “self-defeating” course. Appeasement and concession has only lost Israel more of its territory and less days of actual peace. If you want, you might liken this to what the immigrants from Europe did to the American Indian. Land for Peace was in every treaty which the white man broke because the white man just couldn’t stay in one place. They had to conquer and steal and go for the gold. The concessions were always demanded from the Indian. The Indian would abide by the treaty and then be pressured into more acts of aggression when attempting to defend against additional white incursion. You might liken it too to the white incursions into Africa or the many Muslim incursions into Western and Southern Europe . Land for peace is a diplomatic joke!

Huffington is an idiot.

Her last paragraph is a kicker too. She wrote: “George W. Bush refused to heed the lessons of Vietnam before marching America headlong into the quagmire of Iraq …”

And that may be true. The lesson of Vietnam is we did not fight to win. We permitted liberal, anti-war, cry-baby-ism to interfere with total victory. We may be seeing a replay of such attitudes today trying to destroy the morale of the American Military to the point of failure and defeat. The only real “quagmire” here is the slanderous smut that was written between Huffington’s first and last paragraphs!

And here was something interesting from Ann Coulter’s: “Democrats don’t want to fight war on terror” (August 14th); where she cites a “Rasmussen” poll where: “Only 48 percent of Democrats said they thought that the world would be a better place if more countries were like the United States.”

It amazes me how less than half of Democrats would think some other country a more perfect example of making things better worldwide than America .

Which country is the most productive worldwide? Which country is always the first on the scene of any worldwide natural disaster? Which country fought and won two world wars to keep the world’s free nations free? Which country fought and won a 40 year “Cold” war affecting the collapse of the Soviet bloc; freeing over a billion people from aggressive Communism? Which country feeds countries that cannot or will not feed their own populations? Which country is active in its support of individual freedoms guaranteed by a written Constitution?

The 52 percent of Democrats with blinders on, or who are more sympathetic to France or Germany as the world’s example should actually take a moment to stop and smell the freedom!
