Oct. 20, 2006 While watching the news and listening to the radio I like reflect upon the position of the media.Always they are anti western. My first encounter with the bias in the media reporting was during the Viet Nam war while the siege of Khe Sahn was underway. Having just come back from Malaysia I was interested in how things were going to the north. I see an image on the screen of a C119 cargo plane in flames plummeting to he ground, and then another and then another. It was only later that I found out that this was the same aircraft, the newsreel spliced to give the impression of a catastrophe. Earlier I had seen interviews with villagers where the US ground forces were bought to task for committing abuses against harmless civilians. I have to wonder if this was the same part of the country where I had spent my tour, albeit not in the US theatre but close enough. In fact many a flight of transports to and from Australia had gone through my base and never had I heard of any such stories regarding US atrocities. Then there was the famous shot of Jane Fonda seated on the AA gun. In the print media, I read a column by Susan Sontag describing the humane treatment given the US prisoners of the Viet Cong and the North Vietnamese. She waxes lyrical over the fact that as the average westerner is bigger then the oriental they give them more food. I was under no such misapprehension regarding what to expect if captured by Asiatic communist forces, even by Caucasians ones come to that. Since then I have pondered the reason for the almost pathological hatred the media has for western institution or values. I have come to the conclusion that the media is not particularly pro communist as anti western. Jumping ahead to our own time I see the decay in social values and the rise in illicit drug use which is never condemned outright, rather the blame for any disruption of society is laid at the doorstep of those who support western values: the 'red necks'. I wracked my brains again for the reason. Whom do they ally themselves with. Well they seemed OK with the rock and roll industry. It seemed to be no problem that at the average concert fumes of illicit drugs constantly hang over the stadium. No call for an inquiry never mind the laying of charges. I reflect upon the fact that the worldwide illicit drugs industry is valued at over three trillion dollars. This amount of money you cannot hide. You need a bank to store it in. You need lawyers to keep it safe, and you need PR in order to placate the polulation. The news media and the movie media have now merged. News creates news and is a saleable commodity. News that does not pan out right regarding its relevance to Holly Wood is ditched. We can talk of Fear and Loathing in western society; how endemic racism is eating society alive; how the west has robbed the rest of the world of its riches, but can we hide the fear and loathing in the drug created public housing where one watches cold blooded murder and is afraid to report it; where one not only does not report it but actually condones it against ones wishes for fear of becoming the next victim.
We are seeing the final act of a media created fantasy
where the social disruption can no longer be hidden.
Neither can the fact that the left have been complicit
in its implementation by creating a wildly exaggerated
litany of western wrongs in order to create a smoke
screen.
