Oct. 16, 2006 Although I am certainly disappointed in the Grand Old Party (GOP AKA The Republican Party) over the Foley scandal, the Cunningham Scandal and out-of-control spending, the alternative is worse. The Democrats cannot be trusted with national defense, homeland security, trade, taxes or just about anything else. With Nancy "San Fran Nan" Pelosi as Speaker of the House or "Dirty" Harry as Senate Majority Leader, our country will be weakened, our taxes raised, our borders completely opened, and our trip towards socialism "fast-tracked," in my opinion. As an example, the last Democratic nominee for President, John Kerry of Massachusetts, voted against every major weapons system that came before him in the senate! A democratic city councilman from San Francisco recently called for the abolishment of the US military on national television, and Senator Reid is being looked at for several corruption problems, just to name a few. Despite the problems the GOP has had recently, they are clearly much more serious about defense, lowering taxes, individual responsibility, Social Security reform, and enabling average Americans to become successful.
