By Patrick Hurley Oct. 15, 2006 Five more American soldiers died today in Iraq. Five more heroes who died to save us from Saddam Hussein's...military? Five more Americans who are fighting in a war that is non-winnable. Five more families who will suffer and grieve over their child, father or mother who died to give the provisional government more time to do exactly what? Eventually collapse? Five more human beings who believed in a war that has proven to be an ongoing embarrassment to the foreign policy of President Bush and a signal to the world that the United States IS a misguided bully trying to change thousands of years of religious and political culture that needs to be left alone. Five more responsible citizens who could be home in their communities making a positive contribution to those around them instead of adding their casket to another cemetery for a cause that only makes sense to Republicans. Five more innocent people who love their country and believe their leaders that they are somehow making the world safer for America by occupying a country that never did anything to us. Five more deaths that will not make a dent in a Middle East conflict that will be around for centuries just as it has always been. Five more.
