Oct. 3, 2006 Muslims, it seems, are ready and waiting to be outraged. Quote a 14th century Byzantine emperor, or draw a silly cartoon, and muslim mobs are ready in a heart beat to rampage and threaten death to anyone who insults Islam. I have to wonder about a religion that is so thin skinned that slights like the ones I mentioned will send a great many of them into a murderous rampage, while the real outrages-the ones commited by Muslims- are met with silence. Muslims slaughtering Muslims gets no anger from the rest of the Islamic world. They're too busy throwing a temper tantrum when they lose a war they started in southern Lebanon. Or they are too busy enriching uranium, or just making themseleves a royal pain. Consider Darfur, where by all estimates, hundreds of thousands of Muslims have been slaughtered by militias that are controlled by the government in Khartoum. The Muslims of the world haven't taken to the streets demanding that the killing of their fellow Muslims cease and desist, no they're too busy being outraged by the words of an emperor they didn't even know existed until the Pope quoted him. This slaughter is motivated by racism. The written part of Islam says that all Muslims are equal before God. But in practice Sunni Arabs see themselves at the top of the Pyramid, and everyone else is beneath them. Since they consider themselves superior they probably don't see the big deal in killing Muslims who are black, after all Muhammad was an Arab, and that puts all other races beneath Arabs. That is a prevelant attitude throughout the Muslim world. Why do you think that Mein Kampf is so popular. Anti Semitism and racial superiority are two concepts Arabs have no trouble grasping. Maybe I'll start being more sympathetic to Muslims when they start saving their outrage for real problems, like suicide bombings, genocidal political movements like Hamas, Muslim on Muslim violence whether it is in Darfur or in Baghdad.
