By Patrick Hurley Oct. 3, 2006 In case you have been on Pluto gathering up your sightseeing gear since it is no longer one of our planets any longer, you may have missed the sex scandal regarding Mark Foley (R) of Florida who has been using emails to convince a male page to have with him. Since the child is only sixteen years old, he is underage thus making the emails illegal. Thanks to Representative Foley who has resigned and to the amazement of NO one has checked himself into an alcohol rehab facility. (This is to get sympathy from the public for his sexual problems) One could not help but notice that he only sought help after getting CAUGHT! It is remarkable that he was not unhealthy up until then. In addition, he has admitted he has a problem with alcohol. (This is also to tell all Americans in general and his constituents in particular that it was the BOOZE!) As we used to say growing up, "Good riddance to bad rubbish!" Foley folly is no longer a congressional issue. Or is it? Thanks to the Democrats, the problem now ranges broader and more politically intriguing because... Rep. Foley happens to be a Republican. This, of course, has sent the Democrats screaming to every press conference they can muster... "That the Republican party knew about this is...abhorrent!" wailed Nancy Pelosi, the minority leader in the House. The nation's top Democrat is implying that the Republican party tried to cover up one of its own in the scandal. Huh? Is Ms. Pelosi SUGGESTING that sexual perversion is the choice of the other party? Well by golly, how can anyone with a soul possibly vote for anyone but Democrats after THIS? Heck, I am changing my party affiliation now. I will not have a pervert in my ballot box. No sirree! Thank you Nancy, for pointing out that us voters need to only elect candidates who would have nothing to do with child molesters, pedophiles and sexual addicts. Whew! As a former Republican I am starting to feel cleaner already... Oh wait, there's more. At the root of the Dem's argument is the fact that Mark Foley from Palm Beach, was a top man in Republican fund-raising and THEREFORE, the party was protecting him instead of the innocent young boys he was courting. The logic goes thusly: Since the Republicans needed the financial skills and contributions of Foley to fill their campaign coffers then it is just a dang shame that some of these juveniles were at the mercy of Mr. Email Pervert. In the interests of party success some kids will just have to sacrifice their psychological stability and put up with a few sexy letters on the net. Is this what the Republican leadership did? Really? Well, according to Pelosi and the other finger pointers who are trying to alert America to the REAL Moral Majority in this country the answer is...yes. The party of Abraham Lincoln covered up this man's sins for the past few years because they needed him to help their candidates run for public office so THEY could also try to get young interns in bed with them, too. Gee, I don't hear any Democrats mentioning Bill Clinton in this twisted scenario, do you? I guess that goes to prove why the Democrats use the mascot they do in symbolizing their reality and their methods... A jackass. Oops, I said a bad word didn't I?
