Nov. 14, 2006 With the election of the Democrats the fifth column now controls both houses of congress. Not since the copperhead Democrats of the 1860's have there been elected officials so hostile to the defense of America or so hopeful of defeat. Secretary Rumsfeld threw himself on his pyre in order to save the Presidencyl. It is a shame that he resigned, Rumsfeld was an innovator and a reformer at a time when the Pentagon was in desperate need of both. Now the "realists" are on the move with all their talk of dialouge with the mullahs and stability we will almost certainly see an end to the one thing that could have turned the problem child that is the middle east into a functional, modern, society. Only by bringing Democracy could this be achieved, but the American people simply don't have the patience for anything that takes longer than a sitcom or a trip through the McDonalds drive thru. Instead of investing the time to get real results the American people opted for a band aid. It might cover the wound but it won't stop the infection from spreading.Listening to the constant drumbeats of surrender of the treason media it's no wonder the American people voted the way they did. The facts were ignored to give the picture they wanted to give. That all was lost and that we must go into full reverse, French style, make nice with bloodthirsty barbarians, and focus on a real national crisis, like the mininum wage. Now, it's true that waging war still lies with the President, but congress is going to make it very difficult for him to do so. For our incoming congress of collaboratorsis not going to be happy until we run up the white flag. Congress will open countless, and pointless, investigations(with the verdict already determined ahead of time) into the war to take away from President Bush's ability to lead the fight. Congress will almost certainly attempt to impeach the President, mostly out of pure hate that's a central part to the Democratic party, but also to satisfy the moonbat groups that now own the party of Jefferson. Two years of countless fake scandals(all stupidly surnamed Gate) and an increasing demand to leave Iraq, and maybe Afghanistan as well and leave them to their fate. Anything for a vote I suppose. But do the Democrats think that the terrorists will just stay behind in Baghdad sipping mint tea and playing chess while they calmly discuss theology? If we leave Iraq under political pressure Iraq will fall to the jihadists, who even though they've been beaten militarily, will claim a great victory and go on the offensive. Neighboring states, especially in the Gulf will be in danger(this will put our energy supply in real danger, and considering that Democrats won't let us drill for oil in our own country we're really going to have high gas prices, If John Murtha, the cowardly Devil Dog, gets his way.) Worst of all the terrorists will be free to launch attacks, not only at American interests overseas, but on America itself. With Iran rushing to develop nuclear weapons, and North Korea willing to sell them to anyone with a little hard currency, future attacks could make September 11th look mild. Perhaps I'm indulging in dark thoughts, but all of these are real possibilities.
