This Cowboy's Work Is Finally DONE!

By Patrick Hurley
Nov. 8, 2006

For six years, George W. Bush could not be stopped.

Al Gore and John Kerry could not stop him.

The United Nations could not stop him.

Saddam Hussein could not stop him.

No one could stop him....until last night when the American people finally put their foot down and said the magic word to a political meglomaniac who had turned his back on reason, humility and the country he had sworn to serve...

"ENOUGH!"

Like a calf he had roped and tied himself many times over, he was finally brought to his knees because he was too bull-headed and pompous to see how far in over his head he truly was in a war he was powerless to win. The sight of him on the aircraft carrier, the USS Lincoln as he foolishly proclaimed to the world, "Mission Accomplished!" was as painful to watch as an unnecessary burial at Arlington National Cemetery. As it now turns out, the President's victory speech was as shallow as his intellectual development.

Yesterday, the world watched as Americans uncovered the limitations of a commander-in-chief who had just enough National Guard experience to be dangerous.

The American people put the President of the United States in a timeout and sternly told him, "Get us OUT of Iraq. No more excuses. No more rationalizations. No more made up reasons as you go along, constantly changing the story of why our troops are dying needlessly for a government that will never succeed and a country that doesn't care. You blew it, Mr. President and that is why you have lost control of your own power base in the legislature. We are no longer buying your sales pitch. It is a lie."

The Republican party is still the class of the bi-partisan process in America. But, it has become arrogant and insensitive because it can. It now has to step back, re-examine itself and apologize to the people in this country who trusted it and gave it power in the at the voting booth. It has misused that power and like falling stars raining from the political heavens the representatives who gave George Bush his Senate majority fell fast and fell hard Tuesday night....Santorum, Chafee, Talent, Dewine and quite possibly, George Allen of Virginia. Why? Follow the bouncing red rubber ball....

I....R...A....Q.

The hard core Republicans will fume and fret and blame this political reversal on anyone but their beloved President. They will be wrong. This was not a pro-Democrat vote. This was not a mandate for Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid or even the screaming meemie, Howard Dean. This was a vote AGAINST George Bush who led us into Iraq under false pretenses, stubbornly refused to acknowledge his administration's mistakes and then had the brass to race around the country urging voters to stand by him and not, "cut and run" in Iraq because we had a war to win there and weakness was not an option.

The weakness of George Bush was exposed on Tuesday night, not in Baghdad, but in precincts and ballot boxes all across this great land we call the United States of America. Our President was finally exposed for the fraud he is in trying to convince all of us that his absurd moves in the Middle East were not only militarily delusional, but deadly. He may have been misled in the beginning, but his actions since then have been deliberate and unfeeling as we saw one soldier after another die for a country that will never be free nor care to be. Iraq will have another dictator soon after we leave. That is all they know and that all they have ever wanted. Thank God we had an election and did something that should have been done three years ago...

We stopped George W. Bush.

And, America is better for it.
