 By Ken Hughes Nov. 4, 2006 Mr. Stelly for some reason I can’t understand used my name in an article. “A Cowardly Attack, Oct. 9 2006.” I haven’t contributed articles to UK since March 2006. Normally I would let Mr. Stelly’s remarks go unchallenged, there comes a time when black racism must be brought out in the open. And that is what Mr. Stelly has against me he thinks I’m a racist. Nothing could be further from the truth I was advancing the cause of Dr. Martin Luther King’s dream of equality before Mr. Stelly could stand up. That’s precisely what Mr. Stelly is a “Black Racist” he and his ilk never understood Dr. Kings message was equality and not privilege. Mr. Stelly lives the American dream of being middle class in every sense of the word, yet he clings to a ghetto mentality that does more to oppress blacks than any actions of any Whitman. Mr. Stelly’s an intelligent man with no common sense he lacks the vision that make men knowledgeable and useful. Mr. Stelly seems to be a follower and not the leader he would like us to believe he is. It’s becoming obvious to many in the white community there are big dollars in keeping the myth of racism alive, allowing blacks to profit from the Whitemans guilt for years of oppression. There are still some black communities who have been and are and will continue to milk that guilt until the cow’s been turned into hamburger. The American tax payers have contributed billions of dollars, written laws that give blacks the advantage in employment, education, housing and welfare in the past 40 years and still they demand more, why is that Mr. Stelly? Why after all those billions of dollars and thousands of man-hours of assistance haven’t blacks moved up into mainstream America, why Mr. Stelly? The facts are Mr. Stelly most blacks have moved on, the majority of black brothers and sisters have become so commonplace in American society they’re no longer recognizable from any other group of Americans by their color. Look around you Mr. Stelly and honestly say blacks are still an oppressed minority. Mr. Stelly’s has a problem now he’s the one carrying the guilt knowing many of his black brother and sisters have taken advantage of the system and not profited from it. Rather than admit any culpability he chooses to play the race card instead and blames anyone willing to speak out questioning black participation in their advancement of being a racist. Mr. Stelly if calling on the few slackers left in the black community to stop complaining and do something for themselves is being a racist if expressing an alternative view to the black rhetoric of “Poor Black Me” is racist then I plead guilty I’m a proud White Racist. Now will you admit you’re a Black Racist because you support the few slackers in your community who prefer the easy road rather than the productive road that requires a little effort and hard work? There are those who’ve decided enough is enough, November the 7th the State of Michigan will vote to make affirmative action as it’s practiced today illegal, I will be voting to eliminate affirmative action and any other special privileges for any minority. The time has come to give and not take. This article isn’t for Mr. Stelly’s consumption he’ll never get it, he’ll still consider me a racist and refuse to see his own racism as a problem. Hopefully some who have remained silent will speak out for the truly oppressed minority “White America.” especially white men who’ve become a blotch n society. ------------ About the author: Ken Hughes is a retired businessman, who’s traveled extensively, observed much and learned much.
