May 30, 2006 I have a “Favorite” website, www.coxandforkum.com which specializes in political cartoons and commentary and I ran across and interesting article that spoke of a Washington Post entitled: “This is a Saudi textbook. (After the intolerance was removed.)” By Nina Shea. After reading the excerpt on the C&F website I tapped the link to the Post article. It is interesting how Saudi Arabia defines religious tolerance. I also now think it is a wonderful thing that the Bible is not taught in American public schools. If the teachings of the beloved Jesus were part of American academics then people would be taught to love, to turn cheeks, to tolerate differences and to be meek. In the face of what Saudi Arabian Islamism instructs its public school children American children are so much “dead meat” if given a chance to actually follow the teachings of Christ. Perhaps it is better to have guns and drugs and provocative clothing and texts in American schools. We have to keep our children fired up and nasty; ready to take on the intolerant religionists of Islam and their teachings of Jihad! Check out these offerings from Saudi Public education. Quoting from The excerpts from the C&F website: “This [Islamic religious] indoctrination begins in a first-grade text and is reinforced and expanded each year, culminating in a 12th-grade text instructing students that their religious obligation includes waging jihad against the infidel to "spread the faith." ...The Saudi public school system totals 25,000 schools, educating about 5 million students. In addition, Saudi Arabia runs academies in 19 world capitals, including one outside Washington in Fairfax County, that use some of these same religious texts.” EIGHTH GRADE: "As cited in Ibn Abbas: The apes are Jews, the people of the Sabbath; while the swine are the Christians, the infidels of the communion of Jesus." ... NINTH GRADE: "The clash between this [Muslim] community (umma) and the Jews and Christians has endured, and it will continue as long as God wills." "It is part of God's wisdom that the struggle between the Muslim and the Jews should continue until the hour [of judgment].""Muslims will triumph because they are right. He who is right is always victorious, even if most people are against him." ... TWELFTH GRADE: "Jihad in the path of God -- which consists of battling against unbelief, oppression, injustice, and those who perpetrate it -- is the summit of Islam. This religion arose through jihad and through jihad was its banner raised high. It is one of the noblest acts, which brings one closer to God, and one of the most magnificent acts of obedience to God." These are the current texts that Saudi children are taught from. These are the texts AFTER the government supposedly went through all the public school texts taking out all the words and phrases that were of an “intolerant” tone. We are left with having to face Saudi high school graduates who have probably submitted to American universities for their higher education who have been taught the way of happiness through murder and mayhem. No Christian can stand against that. We are to be meek and lowly and passive and allowing and tolerant and protective. It is better that American schools remain mostly intolerant of religious incursion. But of course you do realize that American public schools are accepting of the religions and moors of every faith other than Christianity? Islam, in its most tolerant mode will still take exception to any personal restrictions placed upon it by any society not Islamic. Just ask the French about that. Yes, it is better not to teach the ways of Jesus in the public arena.
