The Christian Arguments Of Patrick Hurley

By t411sh

"Enter the "atheist." The most obnoxious group of writers in here who cannot comprehend the love of our Lord Jesus Christ and have to take issue with it because they are threatened by anyone who prefers to love Him back." -- Patrick Hurley

Why would someone be "threatened" by someone's love of something? That doesn't make any sense, does it? Christians typically reply with preprogrammed responses, responses taught to them by their pastors or by other Christians. They rarely try to seriously contemplate why someone may have the opinions they do.

We don't attack religion because we are "threatened" by their "love" of imaginary things. We attack religion because we tire of the arrogance, intolerance, and violence it inspires. Imagine how peaceful the world would become if there weren't psychotics attacking people because of their sexual orientation, or because they haven't "accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior"? Like Islam, Christianity is a disease. This is the real reason why we attack it. We attack Christianity for the same reasons doctors attack illnesses. We want to see the world get better.

"Of course, what they fail to mention in their crusade against faith, is that it takes just as much faith to not believe in God as it does to believe in God." -- Patrick Hurley

This isn't entirely true. It does take some faith to not believe in a God. Who knows? Maybe there is a God. However, it takes more faith to believe in a God. But to believe that a collection of stories and letters written by men is somehow the inspired word of a god that may or may not exist takes more faith than anything.

Consider where the God idea came from, and how theists continue to defend the existence of a God today. Every argument for the existence of a God is designed to give an explanation to something we can't currently explain. Where did everything come from? "There is no natural way to explain that so a God must have done it. The world is too complex to have evolved on its own. Blah blah blah." Believing in a God shows a lack of patience. Instead of jumping to conclusions about how things came about, we should have patience and fund research so real explanations can come available. Using an imaginary god to fill in our knowledge gaps will only slow our intellectual progress.

"In short, these needy intellectual midgets couldn't hold Jesus' jockstrap." -- Patrick Hurley

I don't really understand what Patrick Hurley is trying to imply here. Maybe that Jesus had an incredibly large penis? But what does that have to do with anything?

"(Of course, in their next tirade they will attack me for SUGGESTING Jesus had a jockstrap back then thus proving their religious superiority!)" -- Patrick Hurley

Nope.

"The most hilarious thing about an agnostic who rips on Christianity is that they have nothing substantial to offer in the place of their venomous blatherings about Jesus Christ and His wonderful plan for our lives." -- Patrick Hurley

A philosophy based on the morality that evolved into our instincts is a good place to start. It's a much better way to go about things than to base our morality on a book that was written by psychotic poets and corrupt politicians with an agenda.

"The ultimate justification for any agnostic is that THEY are the masters and mistresses of their own destiny." -- Patrick Hurley

And what's so wrong with this? At least we're basing our lives on something real, instead of mythological stories designed to brainwash people into believing in things their common sense would otherwise deny. Talking bushes.... Hahahaha! Give me a break.
