The Absurdity Of "Atheism"

By Patrick Hurley
May 23, 2006

I get a kick out of the various articles in here demeaning Christianity and attacking anyone who believes in God. The so-called theological "experts" are only pseudo-intellectuals who have an ax to grind against religion for a variety of reasons. Maybe they were never loved as a child. Maybe their father abandoned them at a young age. Maybe they were beat up by a nun. It is a common psychological truth that most people form their view of God based upon a childhood experience that has NOTHING to do with Him. Enter the "atheist." The most obnoxious group of writers in here who cannot comprehend the love of our Lord Jesus Christ and have to take issue with it because they are threatened by anyone who prefers to love Him back. They believe that the more they pound away with their absurd arguments, the more they will influence most of the world away from Jesus Christ. Of course, what they fail to mention in their crusade against faith, is that it takes just as much faith to not believe in God as it does to believe in God. The "atheist" calls it intelligence and brilliant logic, when in reality it is the equal amount of conjecture either way. So, they focus on how stupid believers in Christ are, blindly missing their own ability to discern the gaping holes in their own belief system.

In short, these needy intellectual midgets couldn't hold Jesus's jockstrap. (Of course, in their next tirade they will attack me for SUGGESTING Jesus had a jockstrap back then thus proving their religious superiority!)

The concept of an atheist is ridiculous at its foundation. For example, it has been said that Albert Einstein possessed 5% of all the knowledge in the universe. Quite impressive, indeed. For sake of argument, let's agree that anyone who claims to be an "atheist" in UK possessed 3% of the knowledge in the universe. (This is really a STRETCH, trust me!) Is it thus possible that in the remaining 97% of knowledge they DON'T have, that God could exist? The answer is an unqualified yes. So, they are not really atheists, they are agnostics. An agnostic is defined as someone who is not 100% positive there is a God. (thus acknowledging the 97% GAP in their teeny weeny brains!) Most people who believe they are "atheists", are actually agnostics. They don't even know the proper term for their own religious identity.

The most hilarious thing about an agnostic who rips on Christianity is that they have nothing substantial to offer in the place of their venomous blatherings about Jesus Christ and His wonderful plan for our lives. Their substitution theology is usually a mixture of nonsensical rules that only brings logical meaning to them. It may be a mixture of "love", "peace", "George Bush is an idiot", "abortion rocks" and, "did you see Madonna's great concert the other night when she hung on a CROSS!" The ultimate justification for any agnostic is that THEY are the masters and mistresses of their own destiny. They will live and die on THEIR terms. The theological and philosophical buck stops with THEM! They have met god and he happens to be...surprise, surprise...THEMSELVES!

THEIR holy trinity is me, myself and I. Isn't pride the #1 sin? Thought so.

So, any religion or relationship that does not have THEIR identity stamped as the source of all knowledge, presence and power at its core is therefore a waste of time and something to be mocked and disrespected.

Let me get this straight. According to the agnostic teaching in here, I am supposed to abandon my belief in Jesus Christ, who changed my life 37 years ago for the better and who gave His life so I could spend my life in eternity for a belief system that focuses on my OWN ability to guide my thoughts, desires and actions to a successful conclusion when I die? And, because this "theology" of me being the sovereign ruler of my life can only result in one conclusion....me not being able to enjoy eternal life because I cannot produce such a resurrected state, I should immediately renounce my faith in Him and return to the wasteland of said self-life that almost destroyed me by the age of 21? Go look for that snowball in hell, Beavis and Butthead, because it ain't gonna happen.

I am a free thinker who is in love with God. I am as intelligent as any agnostic in here and I have chosen to put my life in the hands of the One who created me. Many may call me foolish. But to me, there is nothing MORE foolish than hiding behind one's self and attacking those who refuse to follow the same path in life and death.

If you want to take your chances for what is truth to you in life, fine. But, for you to rant on and on and ON about how wonderful it is to be your own god and make fun of those who disagree with you, get a grip on reality. Your hate-filled spewings do not convince any Christian that what you have to offer is remotely desirable. If given a choice between following Jesus or YOUR concept of life without Him, this is a slam dunk for me.

Someday we will all meet Jesus Christ on that day of judgment. We will then let Him decide who had the truth safely ensconced in their soul. Until then, enjoy your abortion beliefs and your Madonna concerts making fun of Him.

Oh by the way, have a nice day.
