May 18, 2006 Pat Robertson was holding his yearly private prayer meeting with God and God told him, according to Pat, that a tsunami might hit the USA this coming year. That was a very interesting revelation. What it means, if you think about it, is that God is no more a reliable predictor of the weather than the global warming computer models. If God doesn't know for sure whether a tsunami will hit this year, and if global warming computer models don't know if the Earth will actually warm up excessively or not, then both are quite unreliable. I note that the US weather service agencies predicted that three major hurricanes will hit the US east coast this coming hurricane season, which seems to be a more specific weather forecast than God is capable of issuing. Of course I have doubts that the weather service can be that accurate. I think they have just picked a reasonable number based on prior history. I will be carefully counting major hurricanes to see if that number 3 is correct or not. My own predictions are that there may be three major hurricanes this year--or four or two or six or five--or not. A tsunami may hit the USA this year--or not. A catastrophic ice age may freeze Miami this year--or not. A tattooed mummy has been found in Peru. My prediction is that two tattooed mummies will be found in Hollywood. And in addition, I predict that their names will be Angelina and Britney. I predict that Sean Penn will play Richard Clarke in a movie and that the movie will NOT reveal that Richard Clarke was an arrogant and untrustworthy and disloyal man who was wrong about many of his opinions. And lastly, I predict that neither Tom Cruise nor Tom Hanks will win an Oscar this year. I further predict they may win an Oscar next year--or not! ------------ About the author Brooks A.
