May 15, 2006 “8I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. 9But he said to me, "Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers the prophets and of all who keep the words of this book. Worship God!" (Revelation 22: 8-9 NIV) The Apostle John was given the final revelation from the Lord. The Lord addressed him specifically and he sent various angels to explain the different vision John experienced throughout these final statement from God to mankind. A couple of times John bent in a manner of worship before these messengers and the angels each spoke the same. “Worship God!” “10Then he told me, "Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, because the time is near. 11Let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile; let him who does right continue to do right; and let him who is holy continue to be holy." (vs.10-11) What men don’t seem to understand these days is that in John’s time the time of the Second Advent of Jesus was considered “near”. If it was “near” then, it is surely nearer now. It is even more imperative to “not seal up the words of the prophecy” of scripture. It is now, more than ever, necessary to publish all the revelation of God to the lost of the world. It is not up to the Christian to right all the wrongs of society. It is not the job of the Christian to settle God’s kingdom on the earth or get everyone converted. Our one objective is to ensure the Word of God is preached. If the Word of God is preached it will do what it is designed to do in the hearts of those who hear. Men will be saved. The “vile” will be vile. The “wrong” will be wrong. But we who do and speak right will continue to do that also. Those who have been declared “holy” by faith will be holy. “12"Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. 13I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. 14"Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.” (vs.12-14) These are the words of the Lord. These are promises to those who have held and now hold the faith. Jesus holds the names of God himself. He is the very God from the “Beginning to the End”. “15Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.” (vs. 15) The “dogs” are outside of the congregation and they will forever be outside of the promises. These “dogs” are easily identified by their sin and their “love” of “falsehood”. They have no love for God within them and they refuse to accept the goodness offered to them. “16"I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star." 17The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.” (vs. 16-17) The gift is “free”. The gift has always been free. God only desires to see hearts changed and lives renewed. Some men condemn this as folly. A God who loves is rejected of men. The scriptures are true when they say there are none that understand or seek the way of righteousness. The “dogs” stand “outside. “As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly.” (Proverbs 26:11) ------------ Email Skip: skiptoomaloo@hotmail.com Comment on this article here! ------------ All articles are EXCLUSIVE to Useless-Knowledge.com.
