Why Can't Everybody Accept That People Have Differing Points Of View?

By Amanda Baker
May 9, 2006

People go around separating themselves by differing thoughts. It is easy claiming that someone is wrong if they differ slightly with their opinions. Then people go so far as to make a person not human and easy to dismiss if their thoughts differ greatly. An example of this is the fights that happen over politic and religion.

This is not an article about religion nor politics. It is an article about follower and leaders. The follower is a person who will adapt their opinion to the popular opinion. This person is just going along with a collective thought. They are consumers.

A leader needs to be someone that shapes the opinions for their own personal gain. These people are aggressive. They need to have products bought, they need to control, and leaders need the personal recognition that control brings.

I'm not saying either side is bad. Just maybe both need to compromise once in a while. A follower can go out and vote. Make decisions that shape how the leader must act to gain control. And the leader must start listen to the consumer or follower.

People need to have differing opinions. It makes us human. It also helps shape the free market economy, if there were not so many differing opinions there would not be competition. Competition is good.
