May 8, 2006 Nancy Pelosi must have some talent. After all here is a woman who is lacking in both beauty and brains and she managed to become house minority leader. Like I said she must have some talent, I just don't know what it is. But I am willing to bet that Ms. Pelosi gets up every morning looks at herself in the mirror and mumbles "speaker Pelosi" to herself over and over again. Horrifingly enough, it might actually happen. If the party of Jackals and Jackasses were to once again run congress what could our country expect? Nothing good. As sickening as the thought of the democrats running congress is, the GOP has no one to blame but itself. Its almost deliberate alientaion of its core voters to waste taxpayer dollars on pork projects that would make even Senator Byrd jealous has had the expected result. Right now the congressional republicans are about as popular as Osama Bin Laden in New York City. So it's no wonder that the Demon-crats are feeling a little confident, after all they haven't had to change one thing about their reprhensible party, and if trends hold for the next six months, they could be running the show. The tax cuts that spurred economic growth and drove down unemployment to 4.7%, remember those? Well if speaker Pelosi becomes a reality you won't. Let's see, higher taxes on income and capital gains means less investment. It means that businesses will have more expenses and will have to find a way to pay them, which means either cutting costs(laying off workers) or raising prices. Of course all of their economic insanity will be wrapped up in populist stupidity, especially when it comes to energy companies. You think $3.00 is bad let the Democrats hike taxes, and three bucks will seem like a bargain. Oh, but on the up side they plan on raising the mininum wage. That always helps low skilled workers. Oh wait... no it doesn't. And of course there will be the endless, and pointless, investigations into the Bush White House. After all it is a top Democrat like Rep. Conyers that introduced a resolution to create "a select committee to investigate the adminastrations intent to go to war before congressional authorization, manipulation of pre-war intelligence, encouraging and countenancing torture, and retaliating against critics." This is what the country can look forward to if the Democrats manage to win in November. A few words to the congressman. Americans don't like investigations. The GOP learned that in 1998, and they were investigating a President that actually had broken the law. Not to mention that every single democratic assertion has as much truth to it as the democrats weekly radio address. First of all the President didn't need congressional authority, which he got anyway. I didn't see the democrats complaining when Clinton ordered the bombing of Serbia, and Iraq, without ever getting congressional approval. As for the manipulation of intelligence, the British, the French and everyone else still stands by their intelligence that Saddam was seeking to acquire Uranium. (as an aside: if Bush is so stupid and the Democrats so smart how were they outwitted by Bush?) If by torture Conyers is refering to Abu Grahib I believe those responsible were punished. And I want the name of a Bush critic, in congress, in the media, or in hollywood or in academia, that has been retaliated against. Yeah, I couldn't think of one either. But Congresswoman Pelosi says that impeachment isn't on her mind."I am the leader. Our Caucus will decide where were going. I don't see us going to a place of impeachment." If you're the leader wouldn't you decide where the caucus is going? I don't think she could stop the demand from her party. That and I never trust a democrat to tell the truth. Ever. So if the democrats win that is what we have to look forward to. Left wing legislation and attempts to undermine the President in a time of war on completely false, politically motivated charges. Makes me want to keep the Republicans in office more than ever. ------------ About the author: Craig Chamberlain has written more than 100 articles for Useless-Knowledge.com.
