May 5, 2006 “20 There is deceit in the hearts of those who plot evil, but joy for those who promote peace.” (Proverbs 12:20 NIV) The Christian should always “promote peace”. Where a smile usually begets a smile in return, showing and sharing peace with all men is a biblical goal worthy of the Lord. The scriptures call Jesus “Prince of Peace”. The day of the Lord’s birth angels appeared proclaiming “Peace, to men of good will.” Let the world have the rest. Those who ignore the True God plot evil or live among the evil that will eventually infect their spirit and keep them in their lost state. The man of peace may win those who truly look for peace, but we still must depend of God to show each soul his message through that personal witness. “21 No harm befalls the righteous, but the wicked have their fill of trouble.” (Proverbs 12:21 NIV) For this statement to be absolute the qualifier must be “spiritual harm”. Surely we see “bad things happen to good people” all the time. And never forget that the Lord “chastises whom he loves”. We should never fail to understand that our troubles are all known of God. He is there all the time expecting us to ask for help when we see trouble. Our natural reaction to trial should be to turn to God. For too many, the first reaction is to question God or even blame God. Knowing we will never come to spiritual harm we should always see God in that spirit if thanksgiving. The wicked have only their own strengths to turn to or philosophies that men have created that ignore the eternality of the comfort given by God’s Spirit. “22 The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in men who are truthful.” (Proverbs 12:22 NIV) The Christian should ensure the delight of God by remaining truthful in everything he does and says. Do you need a guide? No. You have the guide within you and the scriptures are your correct direction. The words of scripture are the council of God; the “lamp” for our feet and the “light” for our path. “Lying lips” are a thing to be “detested”. There is absolutely no spiritual truth in the soul that claims there is no God. “23 A prudent man keeps his knowledge to himself, but the heart of fools blurts out folly.” (Proverbs 12:23 NIV) It is “folly” to suggest that the “philosophies” of men are greater than the truth spoken by God. The ideas of men suggest that all men are good and worthy. That clearly is not true. History is saturated with examples of men who have held the ideals of humanism alone, apart from God. These men have created communism and fascism and totalitarianism and all manner of humanism that have been found to be false in their promises and their results. The fact of humanity is that if not for mercy from the creator there would be no humanity. God showed us in his record that he had been brought to the point where he considered ending all life on earth. Even in the final judgment there will be that remnant that failed to succumb to the lies of humanism and Satanism. Humanism has never been able to garner the right answers even when God gives them to men openly. The one great instructor of all men is the Savior of the World, the Lord Jesus Christ. “28 In the way of righteousness there is life; along that path is immortality.” (Proverbs 12:28 NIV) There is your bottom line Christian. Jesus said: “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father but by me.” Jesus is the only path to righteousness and the only proper spiritual attitude for the individual. Jesus harmed no one. He was jealous of no one. He protected the true faith against the errors of the religionists. He resisted the temptations of Satan. He instructed righteousness. He gives immortality. He is advocate and he is God. ------------ Email Skip: skiptoomaloo@hotmail.com Comment on this article here! ------------ All articles are EXCLUSIVE to Useless-Knowledge.com.
