May 5, 2006 As time marches forward and the intelligence data is unraveled from prewar gatherings we begin to paint a clear picture of the lies, deception, and misinformation that this Administration used to get us into this blunder. Don't you think it is time we hold them accountable for these lies, deception, and misinformation that has cost us billions of dollars and many young lives? I say it is past time! Tenet has mentioned that there were varying opinions about Iraq and their potential, but he stated that there was never an imminent threat where they were concerned. Furthermore, he stated that there were no intelligence reports uncovering any WMD's. Yet, Bush (September 12, 2002) said that "Saddam's regime is a grave and gathering danger.." and "a threat that we must deal with as quickly as possible". Then again on October 7th, 2002, Bush said about Iraq, "..the danger is already significant and only grows with time..". (www.msnbc.msn.com, February 5, 2005) During a news conference yesterday reporters asked Rumsfeld why he deliberately lied and misled the American public about the WMD's and Iraq. Rumsfeld continued his diatribe of lies and deceit even when CNN presented his verbatim words regarding WMD's and Iraq. He even tried to blame Colin Powell. Why the urgency and the cover-up? What had they to gain? And why cannot they tell the truth now when confronted with what they said? Does he (Bush and his cronies) think that the American public can so easily forget? We never found any WMD's and Iraq was never a threat, yet we have created this huge costly war with an innocent nation and we continue to lie and mislead the world as to where and when it will all end. I say it is time that the voice of America and the world is heard. We have got to invite congress to act sooner rather than later. We have to urge them to move toward impeachment for all of Bush and his cabinet and we need to do so NOW! What America and the world deserve is intelligent leadership that is capable of telling the truth and not concocting lies to achieve their own sick end result. America needs compassionate leadership that can and will work toward creating safer borders, railways, ports, and air terminals. Leadership that will bring our troops home and quit this reckless war with an innocent nation. Leadership that can and will bring about lobby reform. Leadership that adheres to a fair and workable immigration plan. Leadership that offers healthcare for all Americans and not just those that can afford it. Leadership with a plan to reward our companies to stay within our borders and not outsource. Leadership with a plan to reward companies to research and design alternate fuel sources that can help us break this dependence on foreign oil. Leadership that is concerned with reforming a broken welfare system, one that has set forth a real strategy to bring people off of welfare and into the workforce instead of perpetuating and rewarding welfare. Leadership that makes our children want to stay in school instead of quit. Leadership that understands the middle class. Leadership that does not dole out tax breaks for the rich while widening the gap between the classes further than it already is. Leadership that cares about the people that voted them into office in the first place! This may seem like a tall order, but I assure you there are people equal to the task and I encourage them to step forward and accept this baton because America and the world are waiting!
