Mar. 27, 2006 When Ken told me that he was no longer going to contribute to useless-knowledge because he felt censored I invited him to take another few moments and think this through. I ask him point blank to stay. I guess my words fell on deaf ears as he has made his choice and moved on. I will say that Ken and I met under less than perfect circumstances as he comes from the right-republican side of politics and I lean hard to the left-democratic politics. We locked horns more times than I could possibly recount, but ended up forging a friendship that I truly treasure and enjoy! I will miss Ken here at UK. The premise of why he left remains a constant struggle for some and appears clear cut to others. I never attack a person personally (yet, some people on UK make a habit of this), instead we (I and those with opposing thoughts, beliefs, viewpoints, and perspectives) exchange ideas and points of view as diplomatically as humanly possible. Choosing to stay away from the cat fights does not make me wish to have our writing censored or otherwise cut for content and readership, which I understand and respect is the web masters prerogative. A word of advice for all who read and write here-please don’t make this platform a playground where heated, hurting, deeply wounding words are exchanged between people for no reasons past misunderstanding that borders on hatred because they (those sordid exchanges) do detract from our integrity, credibility, and validity as writers, novice or not and reflect poorly on our beloved web site-UK. Ken, one last ploy-please stay! ------------ About the author: Michelle Malsbury was born and raised in Champaign, Illinois. She holds a BA in Business Management. Currently she is seven weeks away from earning her master's degree in Organizational Management while concurrently pursuing her lofty writing ambitions.
