 By Bonijean Isaacs Mar. 27, 2006 Congress has no business defining marriage in the United States Constitution. The Polygamous Judge should have been allowed to keep his job. Same Sex Couples should be able to be legally married. Drug Laws are Stupid! Women should have choices. Wal-Mart’s "Think Screening" Questionnaire sucks swampwater in my not so humble opinion. On the other hand, I have a concealed weapons permit, but if I ever actually learn to shoot a gun, I’ll join the National Rifle’s Association. My viewpoints are considered Liberal by most standards yet I don’t follow the crowd nor is my survival dependent on somebody else’s thinking. Nevertheless, I don’t feel the need belittle or slander an individual who has Conservative Viewpoints. I first registered as a Republican in rebellion of my Democratic Parents. I worked in the Nixon Campaign and was even a Nixonette. Later on, I reregistered as Democrat. Eventually, I decided that I don’t like either of them so I am currently registered Libertarian. I am told that we are the best of both parties. I certainly did not vote for Bush but there is no need to call Mr. Kenneth Hughes names just because he did. I often read his articles and shake my head in disbelief when I find myself in agreement what much of what he says. I certainly don’t agree with everything he says but I can still recognize the wisdom and validity of much of what he does share. He has always been a positive contributor to the Useless Knowledge Magazine. I have the utmost respect for Ken Hughes as a Writer. His Article "Kicking Dead Horses Can't Possibly Be Enjoyable" hit close to home with issues that I am dealing with on a senior dating site. My primary purpose is to find a love connection but I like to write and I like to blog. I have be come the favorite person to be hissed and booed at when I participate in the magazine section of the Senior Dating Site. It is a vocal minority of malcontents tanked out on JohnBarleyCorn and stuck in their brown bottle flu. Ken Hughes quotes in his article "dysfunctional people who feel duty bound to point out the presumed short comings of others are more than slightly unbalanced themselves. Sometimes I wonder if they all escaped from the same Booby Hatch. Next comes Ken Hughes article "My Final Article [Personal Attacks To Stop]." This brings me to another question. Ken Hughes is a talented writer who has proven himself. There are many sites that will welcome him with opens arms. He will also be regarded with the respect that he deserves. The Useless Knowledge Magazine has given me a change to "out myself" as a writer, sharpen my skills and prove myself as well. Thus far, I have not been subjected to the attacks that he has but it didn’t break my heart when "Mr. Short End of the Stick Measuring Contest" got voted off the site. There are better ways to utilize writing talents than to slam other writers. I have also heard that the Fool is not the Opposite of the King. The Fool is King in another realm. If a person is not respected where they are , it is time to move on where to where they are respected. This principle also applies to jobs and relationships. So I ask my self, why am I contributing to the Senior Dating Magazine when I am subjected to constant belittlement and harassment. If I leave, where do I do? Granted, I am old enough for an AARP membership but I don’t look it. Maybe I should follow Dada Artist and Sculptor Beatrice Wood’s Philosophy. "The secret to longevity is young men and chocolate." So………… Mr. Ken Hughes, Godspeed !
