Allah And Man At Yale

By Brooks A. Mick, M.D.
Mar. 24, 2006

It was William F. Buckley who got his start by writing "God and Man at Yale." Perhaps this can be the beginning of another writing career. John Fund has been following the story of the Taliban spokesman who, despite only a fourth-grade education, has been admitted to Yale where he is quite a celebrity. Yale thought he could bring a unique perspective to the university. The Yale administration was extremely saddened to learn that Hitler and Idi Amin are both dead and won't be able to enroll, as they would also bring a unique perspective.

Harvard, ever the academic competitor, is trying to enroll Robert Mugabe and are planning to give an honorary doctorate to Vlad the Impaler, posthumously, of course. The press release states that they realize he is dead. Though, considering his vampire status, perhaps he's not...

To return to our Taliban "student," he was once the official Taliban spokesman, and on a visit to New York shortly before 9/11, was observed to pause and gaze soulfully up at the World Trade Center towers. It is not beyond the bounds of reason to consider that he may well have been aware of the al Qaeda plot to bring down those towers.

The bounds of reason do not seem to constrain Yale, however, which has welcomed Mr. Hashemi with open alms, as he's getting a free ride. Some benefactors are paying his tuition. It is not likely that these benefactors have contributed anything to Sean Hannity's Freedom Drive which collects money for the tuition of children of soldiers killed in the war against terrorism.

Amy Aaland, executive director of Yale's Slifka Center for Jewish Life, apparently one of the ultra-leftist suicidal airhead sect of Jews, thinks Mr. Hashemi may be converted to non-savagery just by exposure to the student life at Yale. Since this hasn't worked with Palestinians in Israel, it is unclear why she believes this other than her devout faith in liberalism. It is nice that Mr. Hashemi eats with the Jewish folk, I suppose. We can hope that breaking bread with Jews might lessen the urge to break heads of Jews.
