Mar. 23, 2006 I polled myself the other day. It was a necessary poll because of all the polls that have recently become the news I have yet to hear anything resembling the actual pulse of the folks I share this desert with on a daily basis. I will tell you the poll was extremely unbiased and the entire respondent assured me that he was telling the “honest-to-gosh” truth of it all. And you know…..I believed him. Anyway, when I asked internally: “Do you believe George Bush is a good President”, 100% of the respondent answered “Yes”. There was no hemming or hawing about the answer. There was no “fence-sitting” or “gray-area” hesitation. It was an honest assessment based in the knowledge of what is actually happening in the realm of current American Political policy. The next internal poll question was: “Do you believe George Bush deliberately took America into an “unjust” war? Again, 100% of the respondent answered with an emphatic, “No”. The respondent understood that the war was actually started by America’s enemies. That these enemies had taken months, working covertly within America, preparing a great mass murder on American soil. He also understood that additional attacks would have quickly followed if the President had sat on his hands like the previous President and treated the destruction of 9/11 as a casual criminal act. The internal pollster asked: “And what of Iraq? Was it necessary to oust the dictator Hussein?” And again 100% of the respondent replied: “Yes”. The respondent understood that the battle in Iraq was just that; a single battle in the global war against terrorism. He understood Hussein was as much a threat in 2003 as he was in 1991. He understood that the United Nations resolutions meant nothing to the dictator. He understood that it was important for the United Nations to maintain some sort of credibility and that is why America set out to enforce the 17 resolutions that Hussein was ignoring. There were threats of WMDs and there were people starving and being raped and tortured. The “No Fly” Zones were repeatedly breached. American aircraft were fired upon and Hussein was paying Palestinians $25,000 a head for homicide killings in Israel. He also understood that his initial assessment was correct as now, many documents are coming to light showing the relationship between Hussein and al-Qaida and a connection to Usama bin-Laden. And that the WMDs were moved to Syria. The internal pollster then moved on to domestic issues. He asked: “Do you believe tax cuts have helped the American economy?” 100% of the respondent quickly replied: “What, has your brain moved to Indiana? Of course tax cuts have blessed the economy.” The respondent based that on the underreported 2 million-plus job growth, the unprecedented continuation of growth in all the major leading economic indicators over the past 5 fiscal quarters, the incredible display of Stock Market resiliency, past the disasters of war, hurricane and tremendous humanitarian outreach to areas affected by earthquake in Iran and tsunami in the Pacific Ocean. In all that mess he still got his tax cut and did not owe the government any more at the end of the past two years when prior to that he was forced to take out personal loans to pay his enforced middle-class tax burden. The pollster enjoined: “What is your opinion of job outsourcing? Is it hurting America? 100% of the respondent said: “No”. He understood that America imports as many jobs as it exports and some reports show a major disparity on the side of America. Besides, he queried, “Why are we going to keep American companies that employ thousands of people from being profitable? Would you prefer to see these companies move out of America completely; taking all the jobs with them? And why are we so willing to deny other countries a little prosperity. We call it cheap labor, but many of those countries consider these outsourced jobs skilled labor. It also reinforces English as the language of trade and employment. It has been proven that an employed person doesn’t have time to sit around thinking up “1001-ways-to-create-jihad”. When you can feed your children and feel productive, you don’t have much time left for terrorist frivolities. One more benefit is keeping all those people in their own nations. They aren’t all trying to come to America because they can make a true living at home. In the political spectrum the pollster asked: “Do you believe the mainstream media is a credible source for information?” to which 100% of the respondent replied: “Yes”. Now that Fox News and its affiliates far outstrip ABC. NBC, CBS, CNN in viewer-ship and that Rush Limbaugh’s radio program is considered a primary news source over every other type of news program on the air….that makes Fox and Rush the mainstream. With Fox and Rush we do not get forged documents and one-sided “gloom and doom”. The respondent believes the recent defections of CNN and ABC newspersons to Fox are panic moves by some who see their network falling out of grace with “Red State” America. He even recognized the implication of the CNN, USA Today, Gallup breakup. Liberal media is in trouble and their reaction has only been to get meaner. The pollster questioned: “And what of the Democratic Party? Do you believe they have America’s best interests in mind in their policies?” This question brought a quizzical look to the face of 100% of the respondent as he answered: “No”. He explained that the Democratic Party of America only has the interests of the Democratic Party in mind. He has witnessed their fall from power since 1994 and understands fully that it is because the Democrats have no policies. He explained that the policies of Democrats change with the polls. They conduct focus groups to develop plans that all boil down to two things 1) Raise taxes and 2) Impeach Bush. The Democrats have no plans, no policies and no credibility in the protection of America; trying to “kill” the Patriot Act, and failing that, ensuring it was watered down enough to give terrorists and their sympathizers all the advantages. Not only is all of that, their chief talking head, Harry Reid is in the red to Jack Abramoff to the tune of $68,000, caught up in the web of the “Republican” “Culture of Corruption”. And there you have it. That’s my first “internal” poll and I think the results speak wonders! 100% of the respondent is well informed to the machinations of the democratic “Culture of Death” which would call for retreat in the face of victory and leave the Iraqis to face murderers and radical Iranian Islamists on their own. There is absolutely no margin for error invested in this internal poll. The pollster didn’t ask any questions about “abortion”, “Faith-based” initiatives, “No Child Left Behind”, “Patriot Act”, “Immigration”, “Oil-for-Food”, “Darfur, Sudan”, “Iran and N. Korea Nukes”, “Hillary vs. Condi”, “Jimmy Carter” or any other leftist so-considered traitor. Perhaps I will be like the liberal media. I will take one internal poll per day and report it as “breaking news”.
