![]() By Judy Ramsook Mar. 15, 2006 Whenever I sit down to watch a movie, read a book, article or even listen to a song I make certain it is worth my while. If I am watching a movie which cannot hold my interest no matter how hard I try to get involved in the storyline, I switch the channel or turn off the DVD. Similarly, if I am reading an article about some mundane subject matter, I will move on to something else that is more interesting or return to that mundane piece later on. If I am listening to the radio and do not wish to hear a song I have grown weary of listening to, I switch the station or slip in a cd of my choice. More importantly, can you imagine if we were to all start complaining about all the things we think are boring? The list might never end. Most people have found a way to battle their boredom in a certain situation. They usually find something else worth watching, reading, listening to and so on. Of course, we are all different. What might be boring to one person might seem exciting to some one else. By this time, you are probably wondering why I chose to tackle such a subject. Here’s the reason. Some one on this site recently criticized my articles of being boring, but that was one person’s opinion. If many of you readers also think most of the articles I submit to this site are boring, let me know and maybe I can change that by writing about things that are exciting. Or better, you, the reader can email me and let me know what you might want me to write about. After all, what might seem interesting to me might be considered dull by others. Just for the record, there are some articles on this UK site I think are boring too, but instead of complaining about such things, I move along and find something else worth reading. We all have choices in life. If there is something we don’t like, we keep ourselves away from it. Of course it would be nice if we could make all the things we found to be boring disappear, but life does not work that way. All we can do is switch the channel or radio station or find something else that will amuse us. If you think my articles are too boring to read, you don’t have to read them. Before writing this piece, I had made up my mind not to return to the UK site, but then I started receiving emails from readers who were wondering why I stopped writing for this site. So now you know the reason, like I said earlier, if you think my articles are boring, do not hesitate to let me know, for, it’s you, the reader I have in mind when I sit down to write something. The four hundred plus articles I have written for this site would not have been worthwhile if not for you, the reader. ------------ About the author Judy Ramsook: My first book titled: "Karen's Adventure" which is about two young girls who go in search of their missing parents, is now available.
