Even the invisible qualities of God are clearly seen by the things that are made, even the whole of the Godhead so no man has any excuse for ignoring God’s existence. God does not depend on the belief of men to exist. He is the everlasting. If you look to the beginning of everything, God is there. If you could see the end of eternity, God would be there too. He is the first and the last of all that has ever been or will be. God does not need justification for his actions or his inactions. God is sovereign and is therefore the chief overseer of all that exists. The fact that he oversees does not necessarily mean that he has an active role in all that happens. God is not evil, nor is he the father of lies. We understand that role is Satan’s. Satan is called the Prince and power of the Air and the Prince of the world. He has authority that God permits and he is permitted to deceive those who have chosen to make their own god or otherwise ignore the true God of the universe. God does not concern himself with the ideas or theories against him. He is quite content knowing that not one of his creations is capable of standing against his will and his ultimate plans for mankind. There will always be a believing remnant capable of discerning the truth from all the lies invented by Satan or by unbelieving mankind. God does not need to argue his existence in any way. He has already proven who he is and has settled the spiritual eternity of men a long time ago. He predestined all those who believe to a life of eternal fellowship within the Godhead. He has declared that all who die in unbelief will face a judgment and a final place of eternal separation from those who accepted God at his word. God does not need to prove any portion of his word to any believer. The believer knows the truth of scripture and the worth of that truth. The believer knows God on a level that no unbeliever can fathom. The believer is sealed by God’s Spirit and is considered part of the Temple of God on the earth. The unbeliever is incapable of seeing this. Spirit recognizes Spirit and that is how believers recognize each other. They can see God within and know the true fellowship of the Spirit. Once the Spirit indwells, then the complete truth of scripture is open to the life. Each portion of the word is appropriated to the life as the Spirit teaches and the historicity of the Scriptures is a completely secure foundation for faith. The Christian does not need to prove God. That the Christian exists is proof enough. Jesus rose from the dead and taught the meaning of that resurrection to his disciples. Those men carried that witnessed testimony to the world. Men believed. Men became saved. The church grew from a handful to a world encompassing community. The witness of the Christ lives, when, had it been a lie, should have died like all lies die. Men have been trying to kill Jesus for centuries. They thought they had at one time but the plan of the True God of Heaven was to accept the sacrifice and offer the atonement to all who would believe. Those who believe know this to be the absolute truth. The unbeliever will continually wrestle with the historical fact of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus until that final day they face God in their individual moment before God’s throne. The assurance of salvation and eternal life belongs to those who have not listened to the lies of Satan or the machinations of humanistic atheism in whatever form it takes. In the realm of the spiritual atheism has nothing to offer the Christian except doubt and debate. Questions based in vanity are worthless.
