You Worked HOW Many Hours?

On Wednesday, March 8, 2006, Dan left for work at 7:45 am and didn’t return until 5:45 am on Thursday. Yes, he worked all those hours and he’s on salary, which means that he doesn’t get paid over time.

How much fun can a body have? I ended up with two boys in my bed. One used my feet as a pillow and the other used my tummy as a pillow. Do I look like a pillow? I don’t think so! Nor am I to be bothered while I’m trying to sleep by a little voice asking for toast. Nor do I want to hear out of a 10-year-old complain that I am watching a movie about Glenn Miller.

And if I hear anymore crap about some cartoon show that they say they NEED to watch when I am in the middle of an hour long program, I’m cracking skulls.

It’s been a long night and every time I tried to get comfortable, I got hit or kicked. I should have slept on the couch but I was worried about our youngest falling off the bed.

To top it off, here comes that fat cat to fin a small area and curl up in. So, let us recap, I got my oldest son thinking my feet are a pillow. The youngest child on my tummy and the cat curled up at the back of my knees.

Today, I’m dragging, and I know Dan is too. So I guess we will be tag- team napping today. So far I’ve drunk 3/4 of a pot of coffee. And I still feel exhausted.

Plus I can never sleep when Dan’s not here. I guess I’ve gotten used to his breathing when he sleeps and his hair getting in my face when he flips it out from under his head. I love the kids, but they are a poor substitute for my Dan.

Try to explain to a three-year-old that 2:30 am is NOT the time for Lego’s. Try explain to a 29 pound cat that it’s YOUR pillow, not his.

At least dinner was easy, I fed the boys pizza and I had a Slimfast.
