June 7, 2006 In Iraq the attempt at implementing democracy is being thwarted by the forces of tribalism. Ever since the west impinged upon the east technology has increased the chance for mischief within these societies one hundred fold .In most parts of the world, prior to the European intrusion, tyranny was a way of life .Those living under the least tyrannical system were the east likely to rebel. When things reached a certain level of hopelessness the oppressed turned upon the oppressor, killing off the local military, taking up arms to either effect a successful revolution; or to face the axe. The introduction of western technology and education created a situation where those prone to oppression are now in a more desperate situation than ever as the ability to kill of the local military is still open but that of taking up their arms is not. After all how can a tribesman used to wandering about the desert with a herd of camels be expected to climb into the cockpit of an F15? Europeans ruled in Africa and Asia for hundreds of years adapting to the local customs when they could, leaving things as they were it would cause more harm than good. They based their actions upon the teachings of history. After all where they not themselves the result of the elimination of tribal distinctions. The Sumerians, the Egyptians, the Greeks and the Romans had broken down the tribal cliques by occupying large tracts of land and imposing loyalty to a central government. In the Roman Empire Latin and Greek became national language of Europe and large parts of the middle east. Lombard’s merged with Celts who merged with Allemani who merged with Visigoths etc thus ending thousands of years of conflict. True the larger groups still engaged in wars with each other but now the situation was a bit more manageable. Given past history can the Europeans really be blamed for believing that it would be necessary for the dominant civilization to occupy the less developed part of the world for centuries so as to introduce western learning in a manageable fashion. The third world may have reason to resent the US as, in their eyes, it has usurped a system built up over the centuries where the lesser civilizations would be subject to the more successful ones. The US was created in the a belief that to colonize is the greatest evil known to mankind. Any means available was used to force the colonists out of their colonies .In the first Indo China conflict the US refused to provide aerial assistance to the French against the massed communist anti air craft artillery in place around Dien Bien Phou (The Viet Minh were at the time negotiating with China for permission to fall back there in the event of a defeat).General MacArthur during World War Two had stated as policy that he would in no way allow the Europeans to regain their colonies at the end of the war to name a few. Post war Africa with the exodus of the Europeans became a shambles, tyrants taking over the colonial mansions. Now there are four world empires, all based upon language. The Mandarins, the Hindustanis, the English and the Liberals. The first two have come to power under the US anti colonial umbrella, the third through the forces of history where colonized become colonizer. The fourth type seems to exist solely in order to destroy the third type. It is based in all of the third type of empire’s countries (UK, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand) and appears to gain its nourishment from them as it attempts to destroy them. They lambasted western governments as they countered the greatest menace to mankind since the beginning of time, the USSR. Would the Viet Cong during the second Indo China conflict really have had a chance without the chanting liberals? Could the attacks upon the west from the religious fanatics really have come about without the constant attacks upon western values, law enforcement and military by the forces of liberalism? After all they were the ones who were responsible for stripping the US military and then the CIA of its powers, culminating with the inauguration of President Clinton. At this time the forth empire seems to be dying an agonizing death, playing no part in any thing beyond giving of a screaming howl as they curse their enemies.
