Hillary Clinton For President Rally Draws Crowd Of 20

By Robert Paul Reyes
June 6, 2006

The 2008 presidential election is more than two years away, normal folks are debating the results of the American Idol competition -- and not contemplating a far off election.

But some political diehards are already obsessing over the 2008 election, they don't miss any opportunity to tout their favorite candidate.

Hillarynow.com, a grass-roots organization encouraging the New York senator and former first lady to run for president in 2008, recently held a "Hillary for president" rally in Nashville and 20 people showed up.

Hillary Clinton is not associated with the group, and she wasn't at the rally, but even a "Ray Nagin for President of a Chocolate America" would have attracted more people.

Hillary is an attractive candidate, but at this early stage of the game, I wouldn't attend a Hillary rally even if it featured the New York senator butt nekkid juggling chocolate chip cookies.

Hillary Clinton has as much appeal to southerners as Oprah Winfrey has to a Jerry Springer audience. Hillary may win the Democratic nomination, but she will never win the general election.

Hillary may be an experienced, articulate and strong female candidate, but unlike her husband she doesn't speak with a southern accent, and you can't win the presidential election without appealing to the red southern states.

Hillarynow.com? May I suggest a name change to Hillarynever.com.
