Jewish Expansionism Refuted

By Tom Pain
July 18, 2006

I am not Jewish. In fact, I don't claim membership in any religious organization. I do, however, believe there are elements of truth in almost every religion's doctrines - universal truths and moral guidelines that are correct in their teachings. Yet, that still does not leave me beholden to any religion, and certainly I have no allegiance to Judaism or Israel.

But I do worship; I worship at the altar of Truth. And just because that truth tells me that Israel is not guilty of expansionism to date does not mean that I am a zombie-like stooge controlled by Jewish puppetmasters as one of U-K's illustrious veteran contributors would have you believe. I simply look at the facts - all the facts - and use common sense to understand their meaning.

My fellow contributor relies heavily on vague evidence of a shadow conspiracy to justify his accusations of territorial aspirations by Israel. He states:

"... they wield far more real power ... through the media, which they dominate. All US politicians pay their obeisance to Israel and to Jews."

So, if Jews control the media, and thereby control all politicians in America, why does much of the liberal media rail against America's presence in the Middle East? Why has the President suffered an onslaught of criticism about the Iraq War and constant calls from the media to bring our troops home? Our contributor has written of Israel's plans to take over Iraq in his delusional theories, wouldn't they want America to go ahead and defeat the Iraqi insurgency for them first?

Our contributor states,

"According to witnesses' written accounts and other books that I have read in Hebrew, the influx of Jews into Palestine began in the early 1880's."

Yet, later in his article, he admits otherwise when he states,

"how can anyone possibly maintain they (Jews / Israel) still have a title to land from which they were expelled 2000 years ago?"

Quick math will tell you that 2006 less 2000 does not equal 1880. So, he admits that Jews were in Palestine thousands of years ago, yet he claims it doesn't matter, that they are now trespassers, because they were "expelled" back then.

Hopefully, you were quick enough to pick up on the fallacy of that argument. To our contributor, Arabs "expelling" Jews 2,000 years ago was perfectly legitimate and rendered any future claim they had to the land moot - but the Jews returning to expel Arabs this century is not legitimate and they have no claim to the land now.

How can one make that argument with a straight face? In fact, I could see the opposite argument - that it was illegal for Arabs to have expelled Jews from Israel 2,000 years ago and therefore they have no legitimate claim to the land today.

But the truth is, and our contributor admits this as well, Jews have not "expelled" Arabs in this last century. They purchased the land legally. I guess in a technical sense he is correct, Jews have "expanded" - but as he describes, they have expanded within the confines of the Israeli border. And of course, according to him, they did this illegally. Yet the image he seeks to convey, and does claim later in the article as he flexes his seer's vision, is that Jews have longer-term plans to "expand" outside of Israel's borders.

To again, highlight the fallacy of his argument: he is citing evidence of legitimate expansion, bought and paid for, within the boundaries of the territory ceded to Jews by the U.N. in 1948, to justify claims of Jews lust for world hegemony.

Of course, the entire world knows that Israel has conquered its neighbors repeatedly in wars instigated by those neighbors, and has always given back the land they took possession of after the wars. Thus, when given a legitimate opportunity to "expand," legitimate in that conquering nations have forever been able to keep the land captured from their enemies, Israel has refused. What more telling evidence against our contributor's theory could there be than that?

Perhaps, he is warning that Israel will purchase more land outside its borders. But rather than incite hatred against Israel to thwart that plan, with the deductive corollary by the average schmuck that Arab missiles and suicide bombers are therefore deserved, wouldn't it be simpler for the land owners to just say "no, I don't want to sell." And don't countries recognize a country's right to restrict foreign ownership of land - I know Mexico does it now - couldn't those countries pass laws to prevent naive Arabs from selling their land?

If Jews expand beyond Israel's borders, it will be with the permission of those countries in which they purchased the land. If our contributor has a problem with that, do not blame Jews, blame, instead, the sellers of that land.
