Jewish Expansionism In The Levant

By Thomas Keyes
July 17, 2005

The ‘intellectual’ climate in the US today is such that if someone criticizes Israel in any way or questions the original legality of Israel’s presence in the Middle East, he or she is considered ‘anti-Semitic’ without any regard for truth or falsity of the allegations. If you want to get at the truth in an argument, you shouldn’t try to shout somebody down by making false accusations of anti-Semitism or the like; you should refute the arguments, if you can. In this case, however, you cannot, because the arguments are true.

This is similar to the situation that exists with blacks in the US. If you express your distress with black criminality, you’re a ‘racist’ and a ‘bigot’. Never mind that black criminality is far greater on a percentage basis than white. You’re not supposed to notice or acknowledge this, for it has been decreed false by both parties.

The situation with Jews is even more delicate, because, whereas they are generally not dangerous physical specimens, they wield far more real power than blacks through the media, which they dominate. All US politicans pay their obeisance to Israel and to Jews. You can hardly find a Congressman or other politican who does not grovel before Israel. It doesn’t make any difference if his name is Clinton, Kerry, Bush, Hillary, Santorum, Daschle, or whatever. They are all sycophants and opportunists. If a politician will not grovel, he is a non-politician, like Buchanan or Nader.

Clinton, Kerry, Bush, Hillary, Santorum, Daschle and the others all agree that the coming into existence of Israel was 100% lawful and justified, and pretend to be shocked that anyone could possibly disagree. Again and again and again, they repeat the same old stupidities, acting as if it never in their lives even occurred to them that there was any wrongdoing in Israel’s expansionism.

One Jewish doctor who contacted me by e-mail said, in effect, “Euopeans came to America and bought the land from the Indians and it’s OK, so you don’t have to go back to Europe, but the Jews go to Palestine and buy the land from the Arabs, and they’re bast---ds.” I didn’t know Europeans came here and bought the land from the Indians, in the first place. I never said it was “OK”. Besides, I’m Indian, so I wouldn’t have to go back to Europe anyway. But the real travesty here is the claim that Jews bought the land from the Arabs. They bought 7% of the land, yes. But they did not buy Israel lock, stock and barrel.

Anyway, here is a little account of Jewish expansionism in the Levant.

According to witnesses’ written accounts and other books that I have read in Hebrew, the influx of Jews into Palestine began in the early 1880’s. This was during the reign of Tsar Alexandr III, emperor of the Russian empire, at a time when pogroms had broken out. Jews were accused, some say rightly and others say wrongly, of the assassination of Tsar Alexandr II. In addition to this, many Russians felt aggrieved because of Jewish sharp practises, such as usury, monopolies, swindles, bootlegging and the like.

It was under such circumstances that Eastern European Jews began to contemplate a ‘return to Zion’, though I don’t know that anyone has ever established that Russian Jews are descendants of the ancient Jews of Judah and Israel. Some people maintain that some of the Jews of the Russian Empire may have been Khazarians, an Asiatic people who converted to Judaism about 1000 years ago. If that is the case, then the idea of a ‘return to Zion’ was wholly romantic and ridiculous. But even if the Russian Jews were direct descendants of ancient Jews, how can anyone possibly maintain they still have a title to land from which they were expelled 2000 years ago? Do Arabs have a title to Spain? Do Quechua Indians have a title to Perú? Do Goths have a title to France? Do Chinese have a title to Vietnam? Do Persians have a title to Egypt?

Anyone who doubts the provenance of today’s Israelis need look only at the birth places of Israel’s presidents and prime ministers. I have given the birthplace of those born outside of Israel-Palestine:

Presidents.

Chaim Weizmann (1874-1952), born Motol, Russia.

Yitzhak Ben Zvi (1884-1963), born Poltava, Ukraine.

Zalman Shazar (1889-1974), born Mir, Belarus.

Ephraim Katzir (1916), born Kiev, Ukraine.

Yitzak Navon (1921).

Chaim Herzog (1918-1997), born Belfast, Ireland.

Ezer Weizmann (1924).

Avraham Burg (1955).

Moshe Katzav (1945), born Yazd, Iran.

Prime Ministers.

David Ben Gurion (1886-1973), born in Plonsk, Poland.

Moshe Sharett (1894-1965), born in Kherson, Ukraine.

Levi Eshkol (1895-1969), born in Oratovo, Ukraine.

Golda Meir (1898-1978), born in Kiev, Russia.

Yitzhak Rabin (1922-1995).

Menachem Begin (1922-1992), born in Brest-Litovsk, Poland.

Yitzhak Shamir (1914), born in Ruzinoy, Poland.

Shimon Peres (1923), born Vishniva, Poland.

Benjamin Netanyahu (1949).

Ehud Barak (1942).

Ariel Sharon (1928).

So the Jewish presence in Israel-Palestine today is clearly the result of an infiltration or invasion.

According to the King-Crane Commission Report, prepared at the instruction of President Woodrow Wilson in 1918, the Jewish population of Palestine amounted to only slightly more than 10% of the total. Christians made up another 10%, and Muslims made up 80%. So in about 40 years Jewish population had risen from probably well under 5% to about 10%. In 1920, Jews owned 2% of the land of Palestine, according to Jack Bernstein.

By 1948, the year of the establishment of Israel, Jews had purchased 7% of the land. They numbered about 50% of the total population. Bear in mind that much of this population growth was due to immigration to Israel-Palestine by Euopean Jews during and after WWII. More Russians coming your way!

In 2004, Jews numbered 76% of the total population, thanks to renewed immigration from Russia with the collapse of the USSR. The State of Israel owns 94% of the land. This phenomenon is called ‘expansionism’, but so far only the tip of the iceberg has emerged. In the coming decades, we will witness a gradual expansion of Israel beyond even its present frontiers, unless the local powers finally learn to contain Israel.
