![]() By Judy Ramsook July 10, 2006 Some men are in a bar enjoying what they can afford, local brews and such. A wealthy man enters same bar and orders a round for every one. Suddenly the men who were consuming what they could afford, perk up an start ordering the expensive drinks they really wanted; all at the wealthy and generous man’s expense, of course. Things like imported brew, scotch and so on. Something we could all learn from. People, no matter who, or where they are will hang on to whatever it is they have, but the day they find themselves in much better conditions and surroundings, they will happily set about enjoying a life of comfort and sophistication. No one enjoys living a meagre life, but those who are in such positions will live and endure as much as they can until they can do better. That better way of life may come in several different ways though. First and foremost, there is the old fashioned work-and-earn-it way. Of course this method works for some but not for all. For there are some people who work hard all their lives in the hope of acquiring that life of luxury, but never get it. If some of these persons can treat themselves to only a few luxurious items per year, they find personal victory and enjoyment in that. Another way is sheer luck. Some people who persistently play the lottery do actually win such things. Depending on how much money they win, they can be financially set for life if they invest it well or use it wisely. Others may gain from other things such as inheritance, and while love is known to conquer all things, this is another way as well. For we never know who we are going to fall in love with. The individual for whom a wealthy person may have a strong attraction could be some one who is not as financially well of as he or she is. Of course, not all these unions have been known to work out as well as one would like. Just make sure you can trust the less financially one in the relationship with your money and or access to it. Or be aware of any careless spending habits. Unless one is already born into a life of luxury and sophistication, it is what most people strive for all their lives; a chance at a better life than the one they started out with. If they cannot acquire it though, they will carry on with what little they have accomplished so far and try to make the best of life with that. No matter who or where you are though, live well and enjoy whether you have a life of luxury or not. For what really counts is that you are here. If you are working hard day and night to acquire that life of luxury and it seems like an unreachable goal, don’t let it get you down; many people are striving for the same thing. You are not alone in that arena. ------------ About the author: Born and raised in the former British colony of Trinidad & Tobago, Judy Ramsook came to the US in the mid eighties where she attended San Antonio College and the University Of Texas At San Antonio.
