July 8, 2006 On Sunday, May 28th the “Stars and Stripes” dedicated a whole page to two articles: “Veterans embark on political campaigns” and “Early Candidate tested the water for Those to Come”; both by Geoff Ziezulewicz of the “Stripes”. Anyway, Geoff had a whole page to himself to explain how Iraq War veterans bring “a complete package” to the art of political campaigning and how military experience is a major plus. He failed to adequately explain how Bill Clinton (a draft dodger) managed to beat out the Senior George Bush or Former Senator Robert Dole (both certified war heroes), or how a lowly reserve jet pilot managed to defeat the mighty Vietnam war hero for the Northern cause (John Kerry) and the lesser traveled but Vietnam mud-stained Al Gore even against so many false allegations and forged documents. The “water tester” was the down-and-dirty Paul Hacket, who spoke more against George Bush who he was not running against than the female candidate who beat him out by a full 4 percentage points. The whole page was a major cheerleading for Democrat war veterans who want to belittle incumbent Republican candidates. Also on May 28th and again on June 8th I was treated to full page spreads on the murders in Haditha, Iraq last November. In: “What happened that night in Haditha?” by Tony Perry and Julian E. Barnes of the Los Angeles Times we are given quotes by “One government official [unnamed of course] who supposedly said that the Marines who [allegedly] (my term) killed up to 24 unarmed Iraqis”…”suffered a total breakdown in morality and leadership with tragic results.” Then an unnamed “congressional aide” is quoted: “There wasn’t a gunfight; there were no pock-marked walls.” So there you have it; proof positive that the Marines are scum. But then there was the unnamed “Defense Department official who had been briefed on the content of photos…” [taken by the Marine intelligence investigators who was quoted] “…the wounds indicated execution style” shootings”. Then, of course, you have the May 28th companion article: “Witnesses fill in house by house details” by Ellen Knickmeyer of the Washington Post who gives us written accounts of many so-called “witnesses” yet admits: “The descriptions of events provided to the Post by witnesses in Haditha could not be independently verified, though their accounts of the number of casualties and their identities were corroborated by death certificates”. Which is “smokescreen talk” for “We are going to believe everything we’ve been told by witnesses in this “hotbed of insurgent activity” before we’ll believe the investigation teams of the Marines or anyone else for that matter.” Corroborating the “number” of dead is not the same as corroborating the exact way the dead were killed. The June 8th article: “Killings strain Marines’ work in Haditha” by “Stripes” reporter Andrew Tilghman reiterates many of the accusations even though none of the investigations are complete. The companion piece was: “Where will responsibility for the shootings finally fall?” by Robert Burns of the AP which was a largely speculative (not news) piece which opened the question “How far up the chain of command should officials be held accountable if the misconduct is confirmed?” Naturally, Human Rights Watch is hoping it goes all the way to the top; knocking Rumsfeld and Cheney out on the way to a Bush impeachment trial. In the meantime the “Stripes” article: “Army doubts man’s claims he killed Iraqis” by Jeff Schogol is more liberal press spreading the tales of one Jesse MacBeth who writes for a socialist blog and claims he was an “Army Ranger” in Iraq. He is quoted: “We would go into peoples’ houses and plow down entire families!” This plant of the liberal left’s claims have already been investigated and proven false. In fact the scumbag never saw military service but the liberal media doesn’t care about exposing liars like MacBeth, Joe Wilson or Bill Clinton. They only go after real men with unproven allegations, forged documents and unverified witnesses. Then there is Hamza Hendawi of the AP who wrote: “Artist wants his Iraq to get up off canvass” where he quotes a Baghdad artist, Muayad Muhsin whose anti-American art “symbolized America’s soul-less might and arrogance”. One-third of a page dedicated to an anti-American Muslim artist. Why am I even seeing things like that crap in the “Stars and Stripes”? With the stupid artist story came “Donkey Suicide Mission Thwarted” by the AP (June 9) which began: “Security forces thwarted a bombing in a southern Afghan town by capturing a donkey laden with explosives and a man who was plotting to blow up the animal…” A rumor I am trying to start is that the man worked for the Democrat Party and believed the donkey would be an apropos statement of distain against the “Bush” war. I had no idea that Islamic donkeys were “suicidal” and that they could “plot” with humans to fool enemy forces. Who would have believed that if not for the liberal press? I must comment also on a major front page story that appeared in a recent “Stripes” by James Raine of the LA Times entitled: “US to deploy checkpoint lasers in Iraq”. This front page article came with pictures of the new laser; all the exact dimensions; exactly how it would be used; maximum effective distance and emission colors. One commander is even quoted: “…no one will be able to ignore [the laser]…” But after reading the article I know exactly how to AVOID being caught in the beam of the laser. Thank you again LA Times! Finally I will comment on Matt Sedeasky’s June 5th AP article: “Pastor preaches of God’s hate” because it was an entire page of the lunatic Fred Phelps and his extremely asinine biblical interpretations which I am sure made every atheist feel justified in their anger toward all things religious. Setting aside the natural inclination to hate Christians inbred into all atheists; I certainly would never blame them if they’d ever personally met mister “hatred incarnate”. The only peers in hate to Fred Phelps are Dick Durbin, John Murtha, Cindy Sheehan and the many wild and whacky members of the socialist left side of the American Senate who collectively believe their stuff doesn’t stink. Why Phelps was given an entire liberal and anti-Christian press page for his hate-filled prattle is obvious. But just once I’d like to see a full-page spread of Mohammad cartoons. I need a good laugh and Fred Phelps isn’t it! ------------ About the Author: Michael John McCrae has contributed over 500 articles to Useless-Knowledge.com.
