July 4, 2006 According to CNN, North Korea decided to test missiles. They launched missiles at Japan. The missiles did not reach mainland. What if it did? The journalists that are reporting the news gave personal commentary. They said that this is to get the United States of America's attention. That launching or testing missiles would get America back to the negotiating table. To negotiate what? A cease fire took affect on July 27, 1953, officially the war never ended. Maybe the news reporters think that Korea wanted to negotiate an end to the war. Are the reporters nuts? You don't negotiate an end to a war by send missiles at a neighbor. It would be as if the south decided, after surrendering, to invade Washington D.C. at the end of the Civil War. The Fourth of July, in the part of the world that Korea lives in, is just a day. It does symbolize a lot for us, in the USA. The Fourth of July is the symbol of stopping oppression of not being represented by the British Parliament. There is no significance to Korea. All they did was lob missiles at their neighbors, they did not stop because the USA had a holiday. President Regan was right you don't negotiate with terrorists. They will just keep spreading terror if they get what they want. It is time to look at the cease fire and decide what to do.
I am afraid it means continuing a war that officially
never ended. That is something nobody wants but North
Korea.
