Jan. 17, 2006 Fat rumps are a pain in the rear for physicians trying to inject medicine to the buttock muscles of their patients. Standard-sized needles failed to reach the gluteus maximus in 23 out of 25 women according to a recent study. If the medicine gets lodged in fatty tissue and doesn't penetrate the muscle, the patient doesn't get the recommended dosage of the drug. One answer is for companies to start manufacturing longer needles, but some folks have such super-sized hindquarters, that it would take a needle as long as a javelin to penetrate the muscle. The best answer is for individuals with fatty haunches to go on a diet. When a needle won't penetrate your fanny's muscle, that's nature's way of telling you that you need to get to the bottom of things and go on a strict diet. If your name is Jennifer Lopez then I can understand if a needle won't penetrate the muscle of your heinie, otherwise you ought to be embarrassed if the needle misses its mark. I won't make an @$$ out of myself by belaboring the point, but if you are overweight, please try to shed a few pounds so that your doctor won't have to prick you with a huge vet's needle. ------------ About the author: Robert Paul Reyes has written over 200 articles for Useless-Knowledge.com.
